No Level Cap. AHHHHH

Damn it, when and why did they make that decision? It takes away the element of planning your character. I mean, IGN said so, but maybe there is a cap but they just haven't reached it yet?

No level cap has good and bad points, the level 20 cap was very infuriating, even bumping it up to a max of 25 would have been good in KOTOR1 so maybe they wanted to readdress this and make it a bigger more fulfilling game! I think if they have done away with the cap it could only be a good thing.

With the difficult level of SW:KOTOR 1 bumping the level cap would have been pointless in my view.
Level caps makes it easier to balance the game (in theory).
I genereally like level caps in games.
I hope SW:KOTOR 2 becomes way harder then the first (also puzzles and real life brain activiy as simply more monsters)

I can see this both ways. True, with a cap you must be more deliberate about choices during the level-up process (particularly with regard to Feats and Powers). However, I don't think it eliminates the need for planning altogether.
What will makes a difference is the game balance and how they achieve it. If they simply throw more enemies at you at higher levels or just make levels too easy to gain, then you're right, eliminating the level cap is a bad idea. But if they make the levels WORTH gaining, that's another story.

Well I think they might make it like Fallout 2 where the lvl cap was 99 but most people finished the game at lvl 20 - 25

99? There's no way that will happen, because there aren't anywhere near the number of feats and force powers.

Well, it was only a suggestion, but you know, no one would reach lvl 99 (at least not in Fallout 2) because of the immense ammounts of exp needed to advance to those lvls. So they could make enough force powers and feats to last untill something lke lvl 30.
So it would be fun to try and reach lvl 30 to gain all the feats and such, but that would only be done by hardcore gamers who spent the entire game searching for scraps of exp.
Of course, it would be possible to ge to higher lvls, but not much use since all you got was some skill points and hp.
So then you have a game without a constricting lvl cap, but also balanced since it would be unreasnoble for players to advance beyond the "feat limit" of lvl 30. But it still offers possibilities for hardcore powergaming since one can advance almost as far as one wants.

What is the point of power gaming when one is playing against a computer. I mean in an MMORPG, I would understand but in Kotor ?
Question, very impotant.
Could someone confirm for me that Kotor II is released on the Xbox in the UK today as well? I didn't have time to go to Game. Please, I need to know. Thank you, good night.

Well - when taking into account:
Forum Rule #5 - Please do not spam. We are more lenient on spam in the Speak Your Mind forum, but excessive amounts will not be tolerated.
Forum Rule #8 - Generally, if a thread has no useful content for other members, or may offend someone, don't post it. Let common sense be your guide.
(Substitute thread with post in the latter quoted rule and you should get the idea).

Oww, I don't like him already.
I don't see how my jokes can offend people, and the extra letters to convey emotion surely cannot be counted as spam?

Well - your posts are way off topic and provide no usefull information. Thus they are classified as spam and unusefull in regards of the two forum rules speak of.
If you wish to discuss the forum rules, either PM me or the forum administrator/owner Buck Satan.
If this thread drifts more off-topic, I will close it.

Well, you know, they could solve that problem by giving us more levels, but not unlimmited levels. Okay, so lets see what happens when you reach a level where there are no more force powers or feats available to you. What then? Holy Rasberries, this takes away the planning your character element almost completely away. Note: I did say almost, but that almost is enough to make me not buy this game, and instead buy the first for the PC so that I can get the damned Circlet of Saresh.

not likely...
SO MANY NEW FEATS AND FORCE POWERS!!!
ok, i am p.o. that so far at least one darkside power i've been wanting has been left out, but it might be a prestige class only power, so i am crossing fingers...
but the new list of powers and feats is pretty huge...i would guess at least level 75 to get all of them...
and there are SIGNIFICANT changes made to the feats and powers tree, as well as some interesting twists to skills...

There may be lots of new feats and powers but I'm sure that one will not be able to play even half of them in one character because they will be only available to certain clases. Am I wrong?
