The Fallout history was posted on the first of November. I recognized the text because I read it on the other site a couple of days before that date.

I'd say it's the other way around.
Buck is a proffecional, he does depend on reviewers and walktrough wroters though. But This is the last thing I'd accuse anyone on GB of.

Why? Are you defending plagiarism or something? Or do I have to be a "regular" to criticize something that is internationally considered shameful?

Absolutly not, I'm just saying that after all the years I've been here I've gotten to know Buck (the owner of this site) as a honoust man who would not copy contents of other sits.
Like I said, I'm guessing they copied it from here. Gamebanshee is well know for it's RPG gameing resources. A
http://members.chello.at etc. site is less reliable in my opinion.
edit:
The Fallout content has been here for years. Perhaps you sw the other sites first, but this doesn't mean they had it first.

http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://mem ... es/fod.htm proves that the text was on the chello.at site in February last year. The Fallout history article on Game Banshee says it was uploaded only a few days ago.
There are three explanations.
1) James Mabrey (the writer) or one of the editors of Game Banshee has been sitting on the article for almost 2 years (unlikely seeing as at least one game mentioned had not come out then) and the author of the chello.at site somehow obtained a copy of the unpublished article.
2) James Mabrey plagiarized the article from the chello.at site.
3) The author of the chello.at site has access to a time machine.
Seeing as James Mabrey does not appear on the staff list I doubt anyone at Game Banshee has any complicity in this act. I feel that they are still responsible for the material they publish so they should remove the article.

I sencerely doubt that the Fallout article was only uploaded a few days ago, GB has had articles about Fallout for years and it would be strange that this was only added recently.
More probable is that the page was updated, moved to a new server or something similar.
Naturally these are just assumptions and I can only repeat the fact that Gamebanshee is a well known RPG site that has been on the web for many years now and has a spotless service record.
We'll have to wait for Buck's responce on this.

Aside from 2, possibly 3 paragraphs of pretty generic game detail, the GB article is far more encompassing, and original. Not only that, but Buck makes no claim to have written it himself (the article having been submitted by a third party).
It is quite possible that the author of this look at Fallout's history is quite possibly the same person as the person who wrote some info on the sits you've refernced. It's not uncommon for some web-adminstrators to share such information, especially when one such site garners a significant number of the genre's players.
If anything, this is a matter you should take to Buck, rather than attempting to scandelize the website (which has an impressive track record, with no actual past instances of this sort of scandel).

[QUOTE=Elven]hint:

Considering your postcount is currently 5, I don't think you can claim to know our community well enough to judge whether 'accusations' are a good or a bad idea. Considering RastaJew has raised a valid point, rather than accusing or throwing mud,I see no reason why posting what he did is bad. In all likelyhood, the only reason he registered on the forums was to post this, thus the low postcount. Furthermore, he didn't accuse anyone of anything - he merely stated that an article on Gamebanshee also appears elsewhere. Personally, I don't find his etiquette lacking.
RastaJew, the site owner (Buck Satan) is very strict about such issues, and won't stand for plagarism, if the article is indeed plagarized. He's usually busy, and hasn't shown up in forums for a couple of days, but he'll eventually see this.
Meanwhile, are you might want to e-mail the author of the article to clear up possible misunderstandings. Like Aegis pointed out, it is possible that both articles were written by the same person.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. As has been already pointed out, I did not write this article - it was submitted by one of our viewers who is not a regular contributor. However, it's still posted on my website, and for that I take full responsibility.
I have no way of knowing if the same person contributed to both sites, but I will edit the article myself if need be to remove any similarities - just to be sure. I really only see a couple of sentences that have similar wording, otherwise it looks like everything else is original. I will also contact the author to see if he can clear this up further for us.

I'd like to thank you guys for bringing this to our attention as well. Jon and I have just finished editing the article, and it should now be free from any hint of plagiarism, but include these features:
Added more needed information about Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout 3.
Clarified Troika's beginning in 1998.
Improved the article overall in clarity, structure, grammar, etc. See pages 3 and 4 especially.

Thanks to Applebrown's help, the article is now original. I'm still not sure how the author ended up with similar sentences in his final product, but I'm glad we were able to track down the problem and get it corrected right away. Enjoy!

And let that be a lesson for us all, I used to visit the site a long and long before I joined, but I never felt that I needed to post anything until I did. Post count dosn't mean jack Vicsun.

For all you know he could have been lurking around the site reading every single post he can get his beedy little eyes on, and we'd be completey ignorant about it. So can you say with absolute and utter sertainty that he dosn't know our community well enough?

This forum is meant to be a discussion of GameBanshee-related issues. Let's not let it degenerate into an exchange of accusations, especially after the purpose of the thread has been achieved.

I agree with Fable here, and thus - I'm closing the thread, seeing as it has served its purpose.
Create a new thread if similar cases of matching content is found
