6 badges- Malavon and Brother P

Hi

I'm stuck. I can't get all six badges.
Yes, I've checked previous threads, but they did not help with my specific problem.

I can't find Malavon's lab. Can't find any entrance, nothing.
Without getting to the lab, I definately can't get his badge.

Also, "Brother P", in the Church, won't give me his badge. I killed the idol, he is free from his blue bubble, tells me his little story, and I get no badge. Where is it?

Can anyone help me?
Thanks

Hiya,

Worry not, here you will find help :)

Malavon's lab's entrance is in the north-east part of the Caves (you know, the area where the Umber Hulks and Minatours attack you). You'll meet a bunch of halfling slaves here, and will encounter Malavon himself. He'll drop his badge when killed.

Poqlein (sp?) won't give you a badge, it's Borther Perdiem (one of the trapped priests in the temple) who has it. If you talk to him after defeating the Idol, he will be grateful and grant you the badge.

Good luck :)

Are you sure you killed everything there, all the undead, too? Check out the walkthrough here. Although it doesn't say how to aquire the badge, you might find some useful info you missed anyway.

Also, I found this one for you on another site:

" 'The idol' and his pack of Greater Mummy's & Zombie lords guard the 6 'key locks' to unlocking the stairway which will lead to Poquelin, lure the Greater Mummy's one by one away from the pack and kill them, this way the battle with the idol will be much easier. After you killed all the Greater mummy's , rush attack the idol with your strongest fighters , he will be no problem at all. Now insert the 5 badges you've found so far in the key locks , You'll notice that you don't have the 6'th one , this can be solved by talking to the priest located at the center of the map (near the throne) , he will thank you for freeing him and will give you his badge, Insert the last badge and you can take the stairs up to confront Poquelin. "

Ok, I got Malavon's and put it into the slot. I talked to the guy after killing everything. The dude near the throne. He tells me his story, and offer's healing, but won't give me the badge.
Should I try to pickpocket him to get it, or kill him?
I don't know what to do.

I'd try to do the whole Temple again, if I were you. That's the sure way to get it. Not a big deal so I guess it's worht the trouble.

Killing him may be another way to retrieve the badge - maybe you'll find it in his dropped loot. But you SHOULD be given it anyway...

So, reload or either kill him and see what comes out. I'm really curious.

All my save games are after I beat the temple, so I'd have to do the whole game over again. Not something I want to do right now. I'll try to pickpocket him, if that dosn't work he'll turn hostile anyway. I'll try it right now.

Ok, it didn't work. I tried pickpocketing him, he didn't have it. I killed him, he didn't have it. So I just went around Lower Dorn's Deep killing all the gnomes. Gnomes are funny.

I found and old save game I had, so I'm using that. I have to redo all of Lower Dorn's Deep. It's okay though. I'll post again when I get back to the temple.

Although it seems obvious, check your inventory, it should be there, its given after the first bit of conversation, and you only notice it when youscroll up.

But if that doesn't work. Download "Dale Keeper", with that progam, you can open one of your save files, and just add in the item.

Oh yeah, the cheesy way  Well, it's not really cheating, since you did yoiur best to get that badge... It's not your fault you didn't get it, after all.

It's okay. I'm thinking what might have happened was that I had a full inventory, and so dropped it. Then I slept a bunch of times as I tried to find Malavon and stuff. So the thing went away.

Yep, that's wat happened. I keep lots of items (a flaw taken from the days of BG 1, where a dropped longsword was expensive, and potions were what only Bill Gates could afford.) even if they have no use. I still have the "Holy Symbol of Myrkul" from the Dale of Shadows. So, my guy had full inventory, I dropped it, and didn't notice.

Thanks people for help :)
