Hi, I need a good ranging weapon, im lvl 5 ranger in chapter one and using a longbow +1 but i want something better than that. is that possible in chapter 1?

Erm I think +1 was the best enhanced weapons I could find in Chapter 1. Maybe a longsword +2 (probably a random spawn though) in late Chapter 1.

There might be a Composite Longbow +1 somewhere, has a Might +3 enhancement which adds part of your strength bonus to ranged weapons. Other than that nothing, and the guy at the shop in the docks district is probably the only one likely to sell it.

in Chapter 1 Finale you can get an Elven Court Bow (+3 to hit, mighty +3) as a reward (you just ask for it, after solving a quest there), or get it (or some other good ranged weapons) as a random drop from the couple of crates in the area - just save before you open them.

you can't miss them - they are locked and trapped, with high DC to unlock/disarm.

there's a merchant that sells Composite +1 there, too.

I think you can get your hands on a Composite +1 from Montgomery in Blacklake zoo.

The merchant in the Chapter 1 Finale is pretty damn good at that level of playing! He has some very useful items, including those precious Bags of Holding. Most useful for storing items you don't need, will probably never use, but you thought at the time looked cool and you might find a use for them later
