From the reports showing, I might to need to get out my raft.

The last 'big one' I remember getting close (at least to me) was Frederic in 1979 and I can still remember the trees knocked down like the Jolly Green Gaint came thru drunk.

Hahahahahaha! I like the "Weasel Hideout" thing. Sucks to be you! Then again sucks to be me..living in Sacramento California where it hasn't rained in forever! It is freaking September and it still hits in the 100's..or it did a couple days ago..it's slowly dwindlin now.

I wish we could get hit with a hurricane here..atleast once..chaos is so much fun. It's like when we had a flood in Sacramento here oh..10+ years ago? I was a little boy then..I got down to my undies and went swimming in the gutters/street while people were panicking and sandbagging their houses.

I assume that HLD is living somewhere in the Florida Panhandle, and it looks like the storm will track across BS's hideout after its done with Weasel. Also, wasn't Leedog working on an oil rig out in the Gulf? If he's still there, I hope he's evacuated....

Still, I understand that the cold gulf waters and jetstream will downgrade the storm. I hope it fizzles out...

Gwally. :D

I believe HLD lives near Virgina, (IIRC he went to school/college around the panhandle, I think..FSU). As for BS, would a cat. 5 bring him out? :D Leedog was off the coast of Mobile, I haven't heard from his dad if he is in or not. I would bet he is headed north at the moment though. Further out (at least on a boat) they would head towards Texas. Always stay to the left. I hope this one stays to the left of me as well.

Alabama power is running warnings that if a 4 or 5 cat. hits, the power could be out for up to 3 weeks! My addiction to the internet will be broken. :D

Oh Weasley, that mustn't happen! What shall we do without you for 3 weeks? :D By the time you come back your followers will be scattered and gone, the rest of them will join the Heathen, the others will be swallowed by black holes... :D

Btw, I posted this pic somewhere else, but I found it relevant to attach it again here. It's Frances.

[/QUOTE]Well, you could certainly hide out for a while at my place. You'd have to pitch a tent in the backyard, but you shouldn't have too much problems with the scorpions. Mrs. Weasel and Mrs. Gwally could bond over bon-bons. :D We'll just put the kids on leashes. ;)

Ah, I knew HLD had a Florida connection. I hope Leedog makes it out of the way, but I wonder which is worse? A Hurricane or Texas? :D

Get a generator.

Dont worry High COMM. In our efforts to gain access to the flying triangle we have taken control of its weather generating module. Ivan should be losing steam as we speak. Not knowing how powerful the weapon of Alienbob is, we can not say for certain if it will eliminate the hurricane. But Sir we are trying our best.

Till then could you get us some smores? We are might hungry from all this work :D :D

Gwally, I would believe my wife would talk your wife to death. :D She is on the verge of talking me to death!! :D (This is her first Hurricane and boy I'm catching it..Panic is an understatement)

(Texas if your drinking. :D )

The generator..well I did have one. :D When I got out of welding though, I sold the big welder (with a built-in generator). The power going out doesn't bother me, the main thing I'm worried about is water, clean water. I have spent the day buying water, plus getting two 55 gallon trash cans. I will line the cans with clean trash bags (at least as clean as new is) and fill them with water as well. I filled the propane bottle for the grille, plus got some charcoal for the backup grille. I loaded the freezer down with ice, so I can't get nothing out of it. :D

Check list.

2 cans (55 gallons)
12 bags of ice
4 packs of 24 'spring water'
A pile of soup
3 loaves of bread
A bag of charcoal
A new box of tea (15 day supply), can't take the chance I will run out.

@Fas, LMAO smores? :D The main thing not to do with the weather generating module, do not drop dry ice into the storm. This has been tried and the result was a meaner hurricane, Camille.

Woohoo! I have the fun of P by 4 times! Wait..hey!

Oh yeah, I read that if Ivan hits just west of New Orleans that it will sink the town. And if the water is able to be taken out of the town that it will be covered in sewage, chemical contaminations and swarms of biting fire ants :)

I lived for 4 years in New Orleans, and I've experienced a few bad ones. This one, however, looks like it's gonna be a new record. :( No "Hurricane Party" in the Quarter this time...

what you're hearing is actually the sounds of the innocent being forced to sit through COMM's intro video. They usually get caught off guard when the High COMM makes his appearence showing off his hula hoop skills in his speedo and bra.

So, yeah, I figure Hell is about the same :D

Me, I do have some relatives that live down in Florida. Supposedly, their residence (which they weren't living in during all this) did experience some damage from Hurricane Charley. Almost all the rest of my family and I live up in Connecticut, which has only experienced some rain because of all this.

Still, these relatives in Florida, though having lived up here until almost 5 years ago, are practically content living near Storm Central (as I call it) now.

And yes, that was pretty darn funny with the reference to Hurricane Frederic (the 'Jolly Green Giant coming through drunk' thing). :D

So, did Your Hideout spontaneously re-locate itself? Has power been restored? Did Mrs. Weasel and all the Weaselettes make it okay? :)
