I talked to lazarus and then went to talk to the guy in tankard tree. They both said the same things they usually do. What do I have to do??? Do I have to push the guy in tankard tree?

Outside the lazarus guys shop. to the upper left where you find the homeless elves, theres a kid named squip, tell him something like you found evidence about the boy doing it, offer him 5 gold pieces to tell the truth, he tells you about the thief, and it goes from there.
