Drunk

That's right. This is a thread about being drunk. As it happens now, I'm writing this half-drunk, or maybe a quarter-drunk. Well, it can't be that bad because I'm getting my punctuation right. Though, trust me, everything would be mispelled had I things my way. Yet, my superego keeps me in check and makes me go over each word a few times to get it right.
So, what is this thread about I may hear you say...
It is about the art of drinking booze.
I'm currently drunk, but it is a nice drunk. One that I know won't make me throw up or get too much of a headache the next morning (well, hopefully not). This being drunk makes my mind a bit slower, but at the same time, less bothered by external factors. I care not what you think of this post, or of my words. The fact is, it's here. For yonder eyes. I can barely keep eyes focused.
Ehm...where was I then? Being drunk.
It's good for what?
Do you ever get drunk?
This is where I lose line of thought. Make best use of this thread.

well, I'm fairly sober right now, but feeling very, very ill, so I'm not feeling so much goodwill towards drinking. although I now know how it feels to projectile vomit out of the window of a moving car, so at least I learnt something last night.
I'm normally a very quiet, shy person, and alcohol is very, very helpful for encouraging social intercourse, as it were.
damn my head hurts.

I don't get drunk anymore, I don't drink much either ... well maybe on special occasions such as New Years.
But not unlike some years ago, when I went out partying about 3 times each week, and in the end could drink a serious amount of alcohol because my body had gotten use to it. Highest one I've counted was about 50 units of alcohol (lost track around the early morning) on one night out from about 20.00 to 06.00. And I'd been out the night before, and went out the night after.
It was physical hard and it was way expensive.
And besides - there is no benefits from getting drunk.

I got it all out of my system at an early age. The last time yours truly was drunk: the spring of 1986, Stuttgart, (then West) Germany. I was so drunk, I did not notice how I would sway whilst standing still, stumble when walking, and slur the most innocuous words, such as "the." I didn't like it at all. Since then I've come close a few times, but purposefully held back because I do not like the loss of control associated with the experience. That, and the world around me spins.

Yes, that's the part I hate the most. I enjoy beer, wine, and liquor - I have a taste for the gems of the brewer's/vintner's/distiller's craft - but that's as far as it goes. I'll have some whiskey now and then, a glass of wine, or two beers. I enjoy maintaining control, gleefuly watching others get plastered. It makes for great times later when I can torture them mercilessly over actions and behaviors that they might not necessarily recall.

I've never been drunk and I'll probably never be. I don't drink any alcohol. I simply despise it.

I prefer to do things in moderation. SO, while I do enjoy some alcohol once in a while, I stop once I reach a pleasant buzz. ONE time, however... heh heh... some friends brought over some 151, and I made myself a rum and coke, That was my one time ever being DRUNK. I had no idea it was 75% alcohol, and I was reasonably gone enough after the first drink, that I went and got another one. At that, I said, "hey guys! Look! Wanna see me chug this?" ....ahhhhhh, yeah, I had never before since I was about 1 year old had such difficulty walking... as funny as it was (apparently I found it VERY funny - couldn't for the life of me stop giggling) I would not want to try it again. A pleasant buzz is fine with me.

There you go - soda! Or lovely lovely coffee! I once survived an entire year (of college) on about 2 hours sleep per night and 3 or 4 triple-shot mochas from Starbucks a day. I wouldn't so much say I was drunk as I was high, which was good, a lot of times, for creative reasons. Kinda scary when I would hallucinate, though...

Not really.
I get
herbally intoxicated instead...
But I like to drink some good Single Malt Scotch and some Beer from time to time, if that helps in any way...
No worries,

I don't know my "line" very well, so in the past I've been drunk a bit more often then I'd wish to.
There have been three times that I was very drunk, and in one of those times, I could barely walk. I even puked in the bus (the shame! never more I tell you!

).
However, lately I'm starting to know my line better. Plus I found out a way not to get dizzy when I get in bed. Simply lay on my side, close my eyes and pray I fall asleep fast
I don't think I would stop drinking. I like the taste, plus I only drink when I'm going out, or when the weather is nice and I'm in the mood for a tasty white beer. Hmm, white beeeeeeer...

I don't drink, not only because I'm not really partial to the taste, but because a friend of mine's done some really dumb things when she was drunk. Thankfully each time afterwards, she knew she'd made a mistake.

But the world spins more when you close your eyes!

Back in the old days when I was a drunk ... ehh - when I was drinking sometimes - I found that the best things was simply to fall asleep sitting in my bed with my back against the wall, instead of lying down.
Or not to sleep at all (

)
Luckily - I don't drink (much) anymore - so thoes worries are a thing of the past and lost youth.

When you are laying on your back, yes
Try sleeping on your side, it might help.
And good advice Xandax, I might try that sometime.

Nope, I generally sleep on my side anyway.

Anyway, I have mostly grown out of that sort of behaviour as well, so it's not a problem.

Hmm, is that some sort of mature illness? That you don't drink (much) anymore?? Hope I won't mature anyday now.
