Archers: no Charm ability?

Having started a new game as an Archer, I noticed that it is the only Ranger kit which does not have access to the "Charm Person & Mammal" innate ability, although the kit description does not mention that restriction.
Is it a bug?

I brought this up before and according to Kevin Dorner this is actually an undocumented weakness that Archers are supposed to get so it's not a bug.

Ah, thanks. It's a shame, as I like the Charm ability for flavor reasons.
<ponders starting a plain ranger instead>

Really, it's so much fun seeing the Beastmaster in the CC getting ripped to shreds by his own pets
