My problem relates to the patched 4-disk version of Planescape:Torment. When I'm playing, I have no problems until several minutes into the game when my entire computer will reset as if it had been rebooted. I'm running on a Windows XP system with NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420 and DirectX 9.0b. I do not have this issue with any other software, except for planescape: torment. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, Interplay is having their own share of problems and they've discontinued technical support, both e-mail and call-in.

You say you don't have the problem in other software - do you play other old games?

Try changing the compatability settings for PS:T by right-clicking on the game icon and choosing proberties and then compatability (well - I think that is what is it called, I'm running danish WinXP so don't know the precise english names).

Also - try right clicking on the desktop and choosing -> proberties -> settings. Then you should have a button on the called advanced (or something - again names might be somewhat different, due to my translating).
This should give a view of several panels.
One of them contains a slider button that has to do with hardware acceleration for the graphics. Try changing this setting and see if it helps.

Lastly - usually when my computer reboots like that - it has to do with my graphics drivers being in conflict of sorts with directX.
But seeing as PS:T seems to be the only software you have problems with - I'm not quite sure.

Otherwise - there are only all the other things to do. Settings for PS:T could be altered, you might have something incompatible there.

Also - you could try changing sound hardware acceleration in DirectX (type dxdiag in "Run" -> sound).

Unfortunally - I don't have much personal experience with PS:T and WinXP - so can't give more advice, then these general suggestions.
