So I have a big problem right now...
I'm doing the Vivec interviews, and I'm in the blackshalk cornerclub helping huleeya out with the racists. He joins me, and we travel together to jobasha's book store.

This is when I start struggling.

As soon as we enter the bookstore, a dialogue box with huleeya opens up, and he/she? thanks me for my help & tells me about the nerevarine cult. However, as that dialogue box opens up my controller starts vibrating like crazy, and the box says "Ooommphh..." or something like that. I can still continue talking to huleeya, but as soon as I leave the conversation I curl up & die. Every time. For no reason.

It's kind of essential for me to get past this, as I'm already head of both thieves' and mages' guild... I'm too far into the game to die like that!! HELP!!

strange. when I did the Vivec informants quest, nothing like that happened.maybe your guy was poisoned or something

oh, and it's also possible that there's a bug in the game. There might be a patch that'll help. I'm not too sure about that, but it never hurts to check if there is a patch that'll help

He was talking about his controller, so I'm guessing he is on Xbox.... Try reloading from your last saved game before the current one, and doing it that way. If this doesn't work, it may be worth starting a new game and getting to this stage as quickly as humanly possible just to see if it does it again. Sorry I can't be of more help.

yeah, I was thinking of suggesting the same thing. It might just work. A new memory card might help, if xboxes uses memory cards...

I don't think it's a normal bug, because the dialogue box actually spells out "Ooomph!", and my controller starts vibrating. A normal bug wouldn't write "Oomph"!!

I've had bugs happen to me before Once the mage in balmora that asks you to find Llewle's skull plain disappeared when I was gonna give the skull to her!), but nothing like this. It would suck very badly to have to restart...

like I said, maybe you're guy was poisoned or something, and it's killing you're guy because you're not curing it or something. I dunno.

Mabey you did something wrong in the corner club. Because you have to do something with the rascists.

My character is not poisoned or anything like that. I tried doing it first a few times, than when that didn't work I did some other stuff, travelled the countryside, and came back. Once again I die as soon as I enter the cornerclub. I've solved this before, so I have no idea what's going on. I'm doing it correctly too, persuading the racists to "leave the filthy lizard alone", thus prompting huleeya to join me.
Then, as soon as we enter jobasha's books my controller goes crazy, and the dialogue box says "Ooomph"! That's why I don't think it's a normal bug! But what else could it be?



It would be -very- bad if I had to start over... I still haven't managed to finish a game, because every time I play I get screwed by a bug!

Do you have got a save game before you meat Huleeya, I mean before you enter the cornerclub? Mabey you should try to restore that one. That's al I can think of.

I -might- have a save game prior to that... Still sucks going back, though! I can't remember what I've done since then, so...

I just don't want to give up on this, because the game designers obviously put this in the game for a reason. Someone had to actually sit down and write a script that says "character dies here", otherwise the dialogue box wouldn't say what it does. It doesn't make sense!

I think to get past this, is take the stupid lizard to the book store, and use the cheat to restore your health while in there, and then when you finished with the lizard, step out and maybe you won't be hurt anymore.

I wish I could... I'm on the x-box, & I can't cheat.

I've tried to heal myself as soon as it happens, but that doesn't work either. As soon as I open the door to the bookstore I die...

You can cheat on XBOX, go to the menu where you health is displayed, highlight it and press black, white, black, black, black and hold hold A and your health goes up, keeping holding A even after your health is restored, and press B to exit but still hold A, and when your in control of movement let go and you health will be automatically restored if you get hurt.

Have you tried no making the racists be nice and instead just killing them?

If you kill the criminals before talking to, or bribing them, then it's possible you have a bounty on your head, and perhaps a little damage. Then when you enter the shop an ordinater might have killed you. Probably not the problem, but it might be.
