What a great comment on Barrin's thread in BG SoA. :D
I would have posted there, but that would be considered spamming and stuff, so I dedicated a thread to it here.

LMAOROFL :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

You know, some might think referencing the exact message would create a world of sense that's lacking, now, but I find a certain dadaist pleasure in not knowing exactly what you mean. :)

Yes! A thread dedicated to my greatness; I must admit that I'm quite pleased.

Sytze (who is now my new favorite poster), was referring to this piece of subtly hypocritical hilarity @ fable. While the efforts to improve spelling and coherence are to be commended, when I read the original post, I couldn't help but giggle like a catholic schoolgirl.

hehe, that was good. I'm not sure why the interweb brings out the inner dyslexic in so many people, but it's sick and wrong.

I believe there needs to be an onboard spellchecker on modern keyboards that delivers electric shocks as punishment, their intensity graded to the degree of the user's apostrophe abuse, sticky caps, alphanumeric incoherency or *shudders* 1337ness.

I feel a bit bad talking about someone behind their back in a thread, but I must admit that I really dislike spending time interpreting posts that use net contractions. :)

well, that post - and this forum as a whole - wasn't too bad by any means, although "neting" -> "anything" took me a while.

of course, when taken to extremes it can be a handy way of covering up the fact that you have nothing worth saying because people can't read anything you write. on the other hand, people will think that you are utterly, utterly tapped. and 13.

lmao!!!! :D

I have to admit... with regard to this subject I am probably a bit unreasonable... I rarely attempt to read anything written in a forum when it is rife with 'netspeak', and various errors...
I mean is it *really* that difficult to write out "are you" as opposed to "R U".....

I have actually found since being active on forums and using instant messaging programmes that my typing speed and accuracy have improved dramatically... which has been very helpful in my job....

It does pay to take care in the way you write, no matter the medium or ultimate purpose ;) Yes I know... I'm anal... :D

@Robnark: L337ness should trigger the release of pepper spray from the keyboard. ;)

Such abbriviations are mearly a product of the Chat/SMS wave that hit a few years back, where people with poor keyboard skills compensated for their typing speed by executing a lot of (in their mind) unnesecary letters. :D

Well, that in itself is an abbreviation, you know. Not to mention that it's just a bunch of old psycho-babble that is used as slang nowadays to describe, insult, or criticize fussy people. And the abbreviated version is just plain ugly. I'd much rather be called "anal retentive".

;)

Looks like Vicsun has become the "Destroyer of misspelings" (hope this is spelled right :D )

I dont know, but i try to type in everything right, but sometimes using some of the forbidden shortened therms is cool...

Well, my English is slow anyway.

LOL! well I think DW was being ironic, but there is one thing abbreviating, and there is another speaking a completely different language. I knew what DW was intending, and I agree wholeheartedly, but as to the subject person's post, I didn't get beyond the first sentence. And I would rather be called stubborn or stuck in my ways, than anally retentive anyway ;)

Now look what you people are doing!

I dedicated a nice thread to an ironic remark from Vicsun, so we could laugh and honour Vicsun for a short period of time, so he would feel good about himself for a bit. And what happens? You people make it a discussion about being anal and if that is meant ironic or if it is actually an abbreviation!

Stop making the thread more intellectual and full with phylosophical babble!!!! You even made me, a Dutch, look the word “abbreviation” up in the dictionary! :D :p

I sincerely apologize for "making" you look up the word "abbreviation" in the dictionary. I had no idea that anyone felt the need to understand what other people are saying on the internet. :)

I also apologize for not laughing and honoring Vicsun for a short period of time. Please, Vicsun, by all means feel good about yourself for a bit. :)

I read all of his posts in their entirety, because I enjoy solving word puzzles. :)

I somehow just know that you are ridiculing our language here, but since I’m having a good day and the sun is shinning bright, I’ll let this pass :D

ROFL :D

I thank you for your understanding Von :p
And of course do I look English words up in the dictionary. Soon I will be studying English books (since I am doing an International Study), plus I will go to college in America (which is a part of our education).
So the more I already know about English, the more time and embarrassment it saves me. ;)
