Restarting (Spoilerish)

First post on this NWN group.

I've played NWN single player until I've defeated Aribeth, with a Barbarian, Bard, Fighter character. Not a very good choice, I think, and at that time I missed SoA so much (better storyline and playing sistem, sorry :D ) and stopped playing.

I'm thinking to build up a mass destruction player, something like 'the destroyer of hills' player, and to leave the henchman behind, cause I've always liked the Idea to solo a game.

I was thinking to start the game with a monk or one of the fighter classes (paladin, ranger, fighter or barbarian).

Any suggestions? (Classes, weapons, armor, spells, quests order, anything and everything you can tell me, please :D )

With the right gear all characters can solo withouth henchmen.

Last time through I soloed with a paladin and didn't take any henchmen except for completing their quests.

My advice is to look at the characters skill list and such and figure out what you want to play, instead of what gives the biggest "numbers" :)

And with the multiclass rules of 3ed rules compared to in 2ed - the possibilities are much more open.

But Xandax, wich class will you recommend for a newcommer?

The classical fighters or a spell based class?

It is all about what you like to play.

The easiest would proberly be a Fighter type with some Rogue levels for opening thoese doors and disarming traps while you are lower level.
But as you get higher with better equiptment you will probelry just run through setting off traps and knocking down doors - which can be done with either spells or weapons. ( I know I do - I almost never disarm traps, I just run through them :D )

But also if you play a magic user you can use the pixie familiar which can open locks and disarm traps for you, so that is not really an issue either.

So basically - if you like to meele, go fightertype (barbarian, fighter, paladin) if you like magic then go magic (sorcerer or wizard).

hard call. i'm looking for one such build too, and i don't think there is one. at least not one without some shortcommings.

i've seen a fighter/paladin do pretty alone.. about equal levels of paladin and fighter, so this will work for all race choice.

i've got a rogue/fighter/shadow dancer who's kickass with the right items for the situation. she requires some inventory space to store multiple items like swordsman belt, rod of the ghost, to be used at the right time, but being able to use practically any item means she can take on dragons alone, with a scroll of negative energy.. requires SOU

a pure monk might be good, but unless u simply want the WIS to AC, as in druid/monk or something, i see little point of multiclassing a monk.

clerics always make good solo characters, with the right spells. u're healer, tank and spellcaster all in one :p

i'm currently planning for a sorceror/paladin, and wondering about the dragon disciple class... research, research..

of course the style of play between some characters here might put some ppl of from opting for them.. anyone with other suggestions??
