I have the complete mask but can`t figure out how to use it. When I try to open the door to the tomb, I get clobbered.
Help, please?

You need to actually WEAR the mask as a helmet. :)

Best you have it on your PC, but it may work with any party member. Not sure, myself. :)

It can be worn by wizards and kensais, and protects against crits :)

Damn then i have to get back to windspear. I left it there on the body of some big red thing ;) :D
(seems like a fair trade, carsomyr for the mask)

jup i confirm it can be worn by anyone and protects against critical hits. i once equipped it on my multi calss kensai thief (cough cough shadowkeeper cough)

don't worry about it, stilgar...

ANYTHING in the helm slot will protect from critical hits, including the circlet of netheril, in tob, and any ioun stones you want...even jan's goggles protect from crit hits... ;) ;) ;) :p
