Ok

So, I have been talking with the Elder Brain, and he wants me to help him get a mirror for him and then he will ally with the rebels.

What mirror?

Quote from the walkthough: "he wants the mirror you got from the Avariel"

Who is Avariel?

I don't seem to have any mirror and can't recall ever getting one.
The journal don't help much either as it doesn't say where to get it.

Can anyone help?

One of the quests to weaken the Valsharess involved the City that appeared overnight; as the Boat Man in the drow "outcast"/rebel city mentions (can't remember his name).

After doing the quests there, you will be rewarded with a mirror, the mirror the Ilithid wants.

I actually, again figured it out by myself after I posted, as I travelled to that village after my visit at the Illithids, so when I heard something about a mirror and stuff, I began putting 1 and 1 together

I just think there should have been a hint of some sort, no matter if I would have discovered it anyway as it seems to be part of the main quest or atleast the area is.
