:o *yawn*im getting bored with baldurs G, i need a change in char type. i keep trying to set up a good char but it is never different enough for my tastes! i have beaten the game with 2 female/nuetral good/ mages and i want suggestions fo sumthing different! (i have gone slightly far with a thief also) i dont want to try barbarian, chaotic evil, because that is too opposite. lol.
suggestions for a char u have or havent tried out would be nice!

Go here and scroll down until you find Riverwinds Guide to Character Classes. It is a very informative document.

I usually suggest a wildmage (ToB) but since you already played 2 mages, why not try something else.

A druid can be quite chalanging (and realy powerfull at the end). If you go for a shapeshifter, then download the patch that fixes it (i believe baldurash has one, and i know Easy of Use has one included)

Or try a good kit, stalker is a nice kit to play (try using him/here as it was ment, to scout and to backstab) A thief can be fun (and there arent any plain good thieves in the game)

Try watever you want.
If you dont have ToB (the expension) I suggest you get that. Its a great addon to the saga

I've often been pleasantly surprised playing with classes/kits that I didn't think I would like.

Yeah, an below avarage fighter with some minor mage spells!!!! ;) ;)

Just getting the old "are bards any good" discussion started.

But i agree there are some decent bard kits in BG2 although i prefere bards more in IWD2

Just add skald kit, if you don't mind - they just kick it...

Well..

Since you seem to like cheats & hacks, why not try playing as Bun-bun the sorceror kensai druid (use search)? In more orthodox classes, if you're looking for a change, try a straight melee class - like a monk or Kensai.

NB - PC alignment affects game play very little, so just choose one you like.

I just charged through with a Chaotic Nuetral Assassin - the class in underpowered in itself with only 15% to distribute among theiving abilities, but I love the fact that the poison weapon ability can cause so much damage with your x7 backstab multiplier. :)

Are Poison weapon and backstab cumulative?

No, it's just that each ability does it's fair amount of damage, and together I've taken down a few beholders by using the technique once or twice over. :)

That depends on how you play...
You could be chaotic evil and help the poor and weak at the same time...but that's rather bull****.
What I want to say is that my gameplay is affected very much by my alignment...

No, your gameplay is affected by your choices - you just choose to play in a way that you see as reflecting that alignment. Yes, alignment affects your initial rep, but not that much, you can easily have a CE character with a rep of 20, or an LG one with a rep of 1. Since you possess moral choice, your character may act as you see fit, though actions should perhaps affect your formal alignment in more direct ways.

No, the Skald kit is not a first choise IMO, considering that the Enhanced Bard Song is available to all kits in ToB. Should I recommend a kit, it will have to be the Blade.

But it comes only after SoA, and in my first run with bards (skald) the game was piece of cake before hla and got even better with hla's...

But it is up to you... I just like skalds very much... hehehe... they rock!

Time stop... bardsong... wow... lol

Will it be possible to solo a Bard in SoA? I guess I will try, using all cheese possible, but I will try.

I tried soloing as a Jester in SoA.
I died in irenicus's Dungeon because I couldn't hit anything!

Not even hit and run worked? Nor running like crazy to get your butt out of trouble? Well, I'll try it anyway...
