Botb site down

I've removed the botb site from my domain, due to the state of the concept of BotB.
It was fun while it lasted, and according to my last information, there are thoughts on the Argyle world that will ensure that our work have had some effect. (Blades of the Banshee does live on in the mind of some of the world builders)
Botb was a great concept and a great plan, but unfortunally NwN proved to be a dissapointment and didn't offer all the tools needed. Hype is proberly the correct term. (Although NwN multiplayer can still be loads of fun)
Also - I think our effort started to early before the game was released, so the gas sort of flew out of the balloon, so to speak
We lost momentum, and then we lost interest.
If anybody wants to get the files from the site - I've got them backed up on my hard drive, where they will live for a long time - so just PM or email me.
Thanks fellow blades, for the dream and fun - it was a good one, but we all wake up someday

Damn, I was just about to ask what the state of Argyle and BotB was. I think it's not only our own 'fault' of starting with BotB to ealry, but also the time we had/have to wait before Argyle is finally online.
So, really, is Argyel finally gone gold?

For Argyle specific news, I'd point you to the Argyle site, but there have been playing there in quite some times, and the land is nice and beuatiful to play in. And I do think it has gone "Gold" yes.
Definately worth a try if you haven't yet

But it's not worth a try to bring BotB back to life? I really loved the idea and was looking forward to play

You could still try to establish the blades IC on Argyle. We have several players interested in starting guilds - so don't be discouraged by the apparent demise of this idea.
I am a DM on Argyle now. Argyle has refocused on dm led campaigns. I am currently working on coming up with a few ideas for a campaign to run. If there was interest I would consider starting a BOTB type campaign.
As always - the key stumbling block is getting folks together at the same time on the server. I am GMT -5. I can play weeknights from 9:00pm my time to around 1:00am. I do not have weekend or any other availability.
PM me here or on the argyle boards if you or anyone else is interested. I would want a minimum of three players and would have to work on the idea a bit. But let me know if there is any interest.

First I want to get a grasp on the world and establish myself as a player. May be later on we could try such a thing. But it is a shame the rest is gone. We had app. 80 member, right? Now, that would have been cool
It's also a shame that Argyle has refocused itself on quest-based-gaming. Is it still fun to explore the persistent world without doing the quests with DM's?

The persisitent side of the world has not changed. You can still do all the things you did in the past and there are many players that only play on the persistent side anyway.
Our focus on dm led campaigns and quests simply means that many of the DMs are trying to maximize their time and the players times. A quest can be a small spur of the moment type thing as well - it does not have to be a long involved campaign. For instance - if you were playing on the server with another character - and I logged on as DM - I could contact you OOC and ask if you would like to run a mini-adventure. If you and the other character agree I can run a small quest or mini-adventure for you.
In addition, many players have joined ongoing campaigns - these work more like traditional D&D - that is to say a group of players and a dm get together at a regularly scheduled time to play in a structured campaign - very much like pen and paper D&D. This is how I could run a "Blades of the Banshee" type campaign for instance.
So, in summary, you can still adventure on the persistent world just the way you used to - or you can get together with a dm for some more dm led gaming. It is up to you.
