Fallout Tactics
Fallout Tactics
Could anyone give me recommendations on whether or not to give this game a look? I've played and loved both Fallout games and I'm looking for something (almost anything) to suppress the Fallout Fetish
, because I can get a real cheap used copy at EB and I was wondering if I should get it.
"It's not whether you get knocked down, it's if you get back up."
The game is very different then FO1 and FO2.
It is a sqaud combat tactical game.
Basically you controll a squad around a map fighting down enemies while accomplishing your goal. Your actions are then requiered to move the people, what stance they should use, what type of shot, weapon etc they should use.
Personally I liked it a lot, and found it fun, although rather easy (but most games are this these days).
But don't get it if you want as a RPG like FO1 or 2, but get it if you like tactical group combat games. Although it is somewhat similar to the combat parts of FO1 and FO2.
But I liked it and had some fun with it, and roaming around in a APC blasting away mutants with machine guns and RPGs is always fun

It can be an okay game, but I had one major issue - your squad goes into Turn Based mode at the drop of a hat. Even when the Bad Guys (tm) are so far out of range you have 1 or 2% chance of hitting them. This means that, as several of the maps are quite large, the game can progress very slooooooowly.
But it's not bad overall. Definitely not a CRPG though!
