I've got a 2nd class druid, and she doesn't cast any spells above 'cantrips' - they appear in the spell book, and in the radial menu, but they're kind of grayed out and don't work . I should note that it's a multiclass character - who's also a 3rd class ranger

Am I missing something?

I think I may know what's causing your problem. What's your wisdom score? You need a wisdom score of 11 to cast lvl 1 spells, a wis score of 12 to cast lvl 2, and so on.

Another possiblity is that you're mistaken and you're actually trying to memorize your Ranger spells instead of your Druid spells.

If your wisdom score is high enough (you need 11 for 1st level spells, 12 for second level, ect.) and you have memorized the spells you should be able to cast them.

A few other possibilities:
- Have you rested? You must rest to memorize your spells and to replenish them after they have been used
- You should set up your spells using your quickslots - this is the only way to go. Using the radial menu is a cumbersome way to do things - so once your figure out your problem - make sure you set up all your spells on your quickslots.

Well, I've got a wisdom score of 13 so should be able to cast spells. One interesting thing though. I played again and one of the spells - nightvision or something - worked (I was in a dark zone). Do the spells only work in certain places. For instance, do I need to be in the trees for entangle to work?

Also, how do you put spells in the quickslots?

And have you noticed how the manual is as much use as a chocolate fireguard?

Right click in the quickslot and manevuer through the "control wheel" untill you get to spells, and then select the spell you wish to place in the quckslot.


What spells is it - I've not actually tested out entangled but I could imagine it would only work in wilderness areas. A good way to test it is to memories healing spell and try it out. That will work anywere.

Lastly - the manual isn't exceptionel usefull, but many questions are infact answered in it. (for instance how to put things in quickbar is explained - p. 14 in my version )

All spells work everywhere, but might not be usefull. ultravision can be cast in a very light area but dosent help you (unless you cast darkness)

Entangle does work in the city

Thanks for all the input - I've got it working now. funny thing is I can use the spells if they are in the quick bar, but they stay grayed out in the radial menu. wierd.

Now, does anyone have a link for the latest patch for this game?

Stupid patcher! Why is it that they assume that you can use the patcher if you can D/L stuff? I know that (untill a year ago) I had access to two seperate computers. One I could play games on, the other I could access the internet from once in a (long!) while.

YES, finally somone who will understand me. They could at least zip it or something.
