The Wonderful World of Theifdom Part 2 : Post Firkraag, Pre-Familiar?

Well, I've decided upon the Swashbuckler as per the board's advice, and I'm having my usual stunning success with him. I’ve even managed to kill of Firkraag with my level 21 half-elf brute (Brute in that those that didn't have any relevance to the game, I.E. anyone with a generic name of "Peasant" or likewise have been slaughtered as the mindless chattel they are.).

He might not be terribly proficient with his crossbow, but the damage and THAC0 bonuses have more than compensated, and I dispatched the beast handily with a temporary powerhouse of Good/Neutral characters.

With the passing of the level-20 barrier (Those Guard-attacks add up! :D ), I'm also starting to delve into the ToB Abilities, hence my putting the post here, and as all my thieves I've put my first few points in Exploding Trap and Use Any Item.

And I've run across a Find Familiar scroll...

I can cast it, have my own little animal friend that will bolster my health points and perhaps give me a bit of comic relief/advice, but I'm not sure if I should... I mean if it dies, then I loose the hit point bonus as well as any hit points bonuses my full 18 points of Const have given me.

Once again I am coming to you, the people who know better, for advice.

Summon it - you can pick it up and put it in your pack, and it'll be safe in there.

As far as hit point bonuses are concerned, there's no difference between CON 16 and CON 18 for a Swashbuckler; you get two extra hit points for each level from 1 to 10. (If you had a Fighter/Ranger/Paladin, you'd get more.) Seen in this light, you wouldn't notice the difference if you lost 2 points of Constitution (except for losing a few bragging rights). So feel free to summon a couple of familiars without worrying about them getting killed--but preserve the life of your third one. :)

Welp! I've just done the summons today, and I'm havingt quite a bit of fun extricating the little Quasit every now and then to abuse him horribly...

Loads of fun! Thanks! :D
