i'm in the first level of it, did (and looted) everything i could, but now i'm stuck. i want first to the old priest and gave him his slippers. after this i set the fire and talked with the archivist, which told be to go back to the old priest. i went back but when i click on the sacraphog he tells me that there's a book blah blah, 'you take a mental note of it' and that's all.
what should i do now?

Run through the ceremony.

You should have collected three scraps of paper that describe it, so ring that bell, light that torch, and read that book! (Start the ceremony by putting all the items on the altar)

where's the altar?

Follow the stone statues to the north end of the map.
