Simple question. Is there any way to undo a level drain? If not advise course of action please.

Lesser Restoration restores levels that have been drained. Remember that if a spellcaster has been drained, they'll have to rememorize their spells afterwards. Hope that helps.

You can heal level drain at any temple if you dont have restoration memorized. I like to have at least 4 restoration scrolls on me all the time which you can purchase at any temple.

Also,
SPOILER,
to permanently protect yourself or another NPC from being level drained, wear the amulet you get from Aran Linvail in the inner sanctum of the Thieves Guild.
He'll give it to you if you side with him, (or you can pick it off his corpse if you don't).

be warned that casting restoration or greater restoration fatigues the caster so in the middle of battle it isnt great to use (unless youre drained to lvl 1 or something

)

IMO, it's not a good idea to cast restorations during battle, in any case. They're not defensive spells, and they're not offensive spells. They're cures, and unless the cure is necessary to keep a character alive, or turn the tide of battle, you're better off with the other two categories.

When facing level-sucking vamps, sometimes you have too. (Being level drained to level 0 really sucks, pun intended)

Only as a last resort. I mean, you'll get a lot better results, pound of vampire dust for pound, by using False Dawn, or summoning creatures that are immune to Domination.

As a general rule, I only do it when the char will die if I don't (e.g. down to about level 3 or 5). Since I always keep a restoration spell memorized, its not to much of a big deal. Rest of it, I agree with you...
Though what summons areimmune to charm?

CHarm immunity
I think Invisible stalkers are immune to charm , too - not the best summons in the universe, but not bad. VERY long lasting, and take a fair bit of beating before they die.
Don't forget the upgraded Mace of Disruption has negative planes protection on it (as does the much preferable upgraded Daystar, if you have the item upgrades mod).
