Right, this is the problem, but it involves stuff near the end of the game, so if anyone isnt there, better not read.

I've just finished the return to Candlekeep section, killed Prat and got his letter and talked to the guy who tell you all about Saverok and runs away before you can fight him. Everything going swimmingly.

However, upon entering Baldur's gate nothing has changed since last time. I've been told (by friends and even by looking at a walkthrough, which i didnt want to do) that there should be people who tell me about the murder of Scar, everything thats fallen apart and that the flaming fist are after me, yet none of this happens.

I've gone overboard on this save, taken ages to do it and got every item and done pretty much every quest available, so to think that it may have gone wrong right at the end is gutting.

Has anyone got any suggestions to activate the last chapter properly? Would really be appreciated.

Slythe is in the Undercellar, that's where you get what you need. Other ways to tell are if you go back to the Iron Throne and people keep talking to you saying that the Iron Throne is crumbling.

That, or go to the Flaming Fist HQ. If they attack or arrest you, you should be fine. Wait, that sounds funny...

Just got to this point myself. Chapter Seven was activated the first time I rested after escaping Candlekeep: there was another interminable, poorly-narrated dream sequence (boo!) and another Special Ability - Ghoul Touch (yay!).

Try resting.

Thanks for the suggestions, and i have tried them all, but no success. There is noone at all in the flaming fist keep, in fact there doesnt seem to be ANY flaming fist about anywhere, as proved when i went on an angry killing spree of the Baldurs Gate citizens and still none showed up to stop me!?

As for the dream, yeah i got that during a rest stop inside the candlekeep catacombs, and got given 'call on holy might'. It did log the start of chapter 7, as i am on that in my journal, but still nothing's happening.

Shame, its spoilt one of the best games ive ever played, Saverok seems to have won this time.....
