this is a small opinion poll on who you think is the best FEMALE NPC in the game for example Imoen, Nalia, Mazzy, Jaheira, Viconia, Aerie. I personaly like Jaheira the best as she has good in game quests, as well as a romance that gets you a ring of wizardry the harper pin and a truck load of XP. She's just a good charactor belting up people with that red mace from trademeet blackblood or something. Give me your opinion on your favourite little lady and tell me WHY she is better than Jaheira.

it is all dependant on how you play the game. for role playing reasons, obviously yoru sister is the best one to take. if you need a cleric in your party and just want a really sexxxy lady, take Vic. mazzy if you need a fighter/archer (i've never used her, since there are better tanks), i really like using aerie, although very weak, her multi use as mage and cleric really balances out my parties.

well, ya know who gets my vote, obviously, but lets nor forget jaheira...
harper pin, second ring of wizarddry, and a interesting quest...
and since I run mage heavy party, I treat my tanks with a great deal of care and thinking....
her sling skills suck, so I plan to give her red dart...3 attacks per round and the sheer volume of fire will be nice...
immie I need for all the stinking short bows you get...3 in soa, and god, I love the tulgan bow... and she will get hindos doom and celestial furey...

My bets goes with Aerie. I mean, she's both a mage and a cleric. When you get Chain Contigency and the special abilities in ToB, she is irreplaceable! haha

Best as in what?
My favourite personality is Imoen, cheerful, bubbly and always staying by your side no matter what.
If we're talking powergaming, then I'd say Jaheira. She has Ironskins, can fight and can get her hands on some great spells.
Most flexible character, Aerie. Heals, casts spells, can be tanked (don't look at me, but some people say it works).
I take all 3

Mazzy gets my vote.
It might just be a fad I'm in, but I really enjoy her mix of abilities, personality, and fit in the game. She is a pure fighter with her "paladin" abilities which, while not overpowering by any means, are good in a pinch. She saved my entire party with a resist fear against Firkraag.
She can gain grand mastery, and if you get her quickly you can divert her from short swords and start her on something more powerful - Axes! She consistently had the best AC in my party as well.
SO she isn't as flexible as Jahiera or Aerie. She isn't as powerful a figher as Vic is a cleric. Honestly, I just love the idea of a halfling fighter going apes**t on a dragon's hide! Lopping ogres off at the ankles, splitting drow down the middle, and generally smashing about with great abandon.
Mazzy is my fave.

Can women vote on the best NPC female?
If so, I vote for (as usual):
Imoen. She's loyal, sweet, kind, fun and open minded.
-When Korgan was 'teasing' Viconia for being useless in the underdark, Imoen stuck up for her. (Oddly enough Viconia then said something about feeling 'sick' or 'ill' or something...)
-How many other good characters would say this when your reputation goes too low?
"I'll stick with you no matter what! But, we should still try to be decent to people."
-Her ending dialogue is always so sweet, showing how strong and kind she is, that I haven't yet been able to play a party without her

I'm with Viv - Imoen is just about essential, so I guess I didn't pick her out to rave about because she is just a must-have. I have always chosen a character to leave in Spellhold so I could pick up Imoen.
The game is so good that I find myself feeling bad about dumping some characters - especially Imoen, Jahiera, and Minsc. I'll say that's a good thing about the game - otherwise it's a stupid thing about me.

Edwin....
Actually, so far I have found Aire to be really useful. The mage cleric thing comes in really handy. Am just starting an evil game with Viconia, and her magic resistance rocks, so jury is still out.

Well I still think that Jaheira is the one to go with, all those nice druid spells. *cough* Ironskins *cough* and she rocks with the crimson dart and firetooth. I have to also say that Imoen is a must, i do very little before i go to the asylum (Copper coronet sewers, slavers, shadow thief quests and rescue haer dalis) these get enough xp for me to take down most of the stuff in the asylum and its always good knowing that the fight with irenicus in spellhold will actually be worth fighting not some speedbump to the underdark, anyway with the little amount of quests i do, once out of the underdark imoen is still playable enough to adjust her to your needs, i usually have her with the equaliser and gesan bow making her an all round support character as well as her nice spells. so Jaheira is still number 1 for me but i must say that Viconia is the best cleric in the game but bad abnoxious chicks just dont fit in my party (Kheldorn, Imoen, Jaheira, Haer Dalis, Cernd and my invoker mage Occam) 2 druids yes i know but cernd in greater werewolf is really good for tearing apart people. And tanking Aeria i mean come on she whines she has a cry over her wings every 6 hours and although mage/cleric is good

she still lacks the firepower of mazzy and jaheira.
Well thats just my opinion but please keep sending yours in and why you think they your fav female should be numero uno.

of course aerie whines... thats her charm.....
the aerie club for men, men who need women who whine...
oh well, have to point out jaheira is an almost perfect combo of her specialty....mage killer! just think of all the really coolest druid spells, and you can see why she is so well desined for what she does...
the best druid spells, creeping doom and natures beauty are serious kick ass mage disruption spells. she was designed to kill mages....
aerie does whine, but she is the needy type and I like that...
as for offense, chain holy smites together, get korgy out of the way, and watch the fur fly! ever seen chained triple storm of vengence? or a triple sunray strike? I have, my favorite way of taking demons down is with triple bolt of glory. does immense damage, and never fails.

Some votes for other NPC ladies:
Nalia - Easily the best Mage female except for.....
Edwina - If only she(he) would stay that way.
Curdis.

All the female npc in BG2 are rather nice except perhaps Nalia and Aerie who are both such whiners, but if i have to pick one favourite it would probably be Jaheira who are neither evil as Viconia nor ridiculously valiant as Mazzy but still do show some backbone. Also you can nothing but love than ..ehhr...cute? accent of hers

If you're planning ahead for Watcher's Keep and Throne of Bhaal, you might want to give Jaheira proficiency points in Quarterstaff and/or Spear (and Two-Handed Weapon style). The Spear of Impaling is a formidible weapon, but wait until you see the Staff of the Ram and Ixil's Spike. With a girdle of giant strength, Jaheira is awesome with those weapons. She's also effective with scimitars (Spectral Brand, Belm, and Water's Edge), but I usually opt for the spears. I don't waste ranged weapons on a fighter - I always send fighters into melee.
On the topic at hand, I think this poll is kind of silly, since the reason for singling out the women seems rather...suspicious. But if I had to pick a favorite female NPC, it would be Imoen. She's been with my character since the very beginning. Sometimes I do a little hacking and make her a single-class swashbuckler. I could roll up my own swashbuckler, but I want to keep Imoen, and it fits her...or at least, it would have, back in BG1. But I want to emphasize that I want to keep her in the party, rather than sacrificing her just to have a swashbuckler. See my point?
My least favorite female NPC is Viconia, since she's evil (twice as evil as the ordinary evil character), followed by Mazzy, not because I don't like her, but just because I don't have a place for her in my party. It's tough to choose when you can only have five NPC's. But Imoen, Jaheira, and Aerie are in my party more than anyone else, as well as Minsc and Keldorn. It's really tough to remove one of them to make room for someone else.

I find that Clubs works a lot better for Jaheira. It lets you give her the Club of Detonation, which Cespenar can knock up to a +5 club (if you have a ring of fire resistance). Then you can slap one of those +4 shields on her, make it the one that gives a bonus to your saving rolls.
This now massive AC, combined with her Ironskins, means she can wander past fighters with impunity, to go take down any Mages. She is also excellent at simply holding the line, as it takes a long time to break her down.

Aerie. I, like UserUnfriendly, have splattered her with praise all over the boards.

Imoen, of course, for reasons that others have already mentioned.

I just love my sis.
Jaheira takes second prize. Her character may be a bit abrasive, but she's an old and true friend of the PC as well as of Gorion. I only wish she'd chat a little more about him.

If it's a matter of character (at least, as much character as can be gained from a few words), I'd opt for Imoen first, as well, with Jaheira a strong second. Imoen stands by you, and helps you every way she can. True, the her actor's vocal mannerisms grate, and the default repetitive replies are so plucky that I could chew a carpet whenever I hear them; but I'm strong. I can surmount this. (breathes deeply, wheezes hard)
Jaheira impresses me. She's just lost her lover/husband, but she bounces right back. She's tough, capable, dedicated, caring, forthcoming and intimate. What more do you want?
But I don't dislike the others, either. Kudos to Bioware for providing five strong female characters to their game, in an industry where women are traditionally portrayed as plastic T&A and nothing else.

Yes, but Jaheria herself says she doesn't like to dwell on the dead.
