Help!!!
I've devastated everything in Level 2 dungeon of Spellhold.
The problem is that I can't bloody find the shard of crystal to enter Level 3.
I think it's probably one the little bugs that's plagueing BG2.
Anyone with any ideas on how I could a) find the crystal or b) proceed to level 3 without it??

Left of the entrace to level two is a secret door. Through it, you should come to a natural cavernous area occupied by a bunch of kobolds and imps. They're guarding a large pink crystal in the center of this area. Wipe out all the enemies, including the ones that teleport in to protect the crystal, and you should automatically cut a piece of the crystal off. It should then be in your inventory. Beyond that, all you need to get before heading down to level 3 is Dace's hand. Hope this helps.

That's the situation I'm presently in. Wiped out the kobolds and the kobold shaman, but the shard didn't appear in my inventory.

In my haste to get to the next level, I went back to the statue and hence my auto-save is gone ( bad move!!) and I can't reload Dungeon Level 2.

I'm now very tempted to cheat!!!

There is nothing wrong in cheating once. I lost my shadowmaster key and couldn't continue with the adventure, so I downloaded Shadowkeeper

Funny, you must ACTIVATE the big cristal before geting the small one.

I don't believe it appears in your inventory...you have to search one of the Kobolds to find it.

The crystal does indeed appear in your inventory

The crystal should appear in your inventory. I'm not ure if you have to click on the big crystal to get it. You need to search the kobolds for the wooden stake.

@Osiris and Brink...you both right I was thinking of the stake.

but what need is there for the crystal?
u need the hand to go to the next level.
i think i still have the crystal somewhere
put i my storagebox

Hand and crystal are both needed to open the exit door.

Items on occasion do seem to disappear and I* do think it is a bug in the game. I lost the Robe of the Archmagi (Good) and I think it was in spellhold too. It's a tad difficult to get another as there aint one anywhere else in the game as far as I know.

It is a bug. I had the same thing happen to me. I had to reload and do the whole thing over again.
