i have no idea how I got this idea, but does it ever snow in Vvardenfell?
Maybe I overlooked it somewhere or maybe it really doesn't snow at all.....
I feel like an ass for thinking it snows, so pls let me know

No snow - just rain and ashstorms.

Damn, I was just thinking of my jumpy Khajit on a improvised snowboard.....

BTW, somebody bought me Amped, it didn't run, so I switched it for Morrowind....and I don't regret it

Although snowboarding is not possible, there are other ways of having fun:

Diving really deep and see if you can make it back to the surface without dying.

Take a rising force potion, go straight up and fall down without dying (start with bargain potions and work up to exclusive porions).

Try to jump from the top of one guardtower to the next.

Jump on the back of a bull netch and try to tame it.

From the first time I saw those Bull netch things (saw them at night the first time, scared the ****** out of me)
I said to myself, I shall not quit this game at least untill I have managed my way up onto it's back....

Did you play Arena - the Elder Scrolls? There was some great weather in that game, including snow.

I agree that the Morrowind scenery would look pretty under a blanket of snow, especially Dagon Fel. When I went there for the first time I kind of expected it to be snowing.

But no, it was just raining!

The trouble with snow is that the game would have to remember all footsteps all people and animals make.

It would be nice to see the scenery covered in snow from time to time, it is great in real life so it should be the same way in Morrowind.

By the way, I do like the the way those red dust storms are done. I was amazed when I entered Ald'rhun for the first time. As I got off the stilt rider, a storm was sweeping through the town. I thought it was a great effect, especially with the people shielding their faces. I was wondering why people would choose to live in such an area, I thought the storm was an ever-present phenomenon of the region. Later I learned the storms sometimes blow over.

Sometimes, when you walk through a storm, it suddenly ends, these are fine moments, you can see in the distance again and you see the sun and the sky and you hear the birds singing and the rustling of the roobrush and the rush of air from a cliff racer attacking you in the back....

That's why I bought Morrowind...had played Arena and Daggerfall. Missed Redguard as it was not in the series... for some reason though I can't go back and get Arena to work (maybe the cpu is too "fast" now?) and my mouse is not compatible with Daggerfalls fighting controls .

Now I need to upgrade my video card for MW...wonder how many of my current games won't work after I do that.

I really love the weather in morrowind! The sky is like the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Snow would be an awesome effect but since I have about 15 fps in clear weather I don't think the game would be playable

The rain and thunderstorms feel really realistic, I get really glad when I can shelter myself in some building somewhere. One downside is that the eain falls through buildings which destroys the felling a little bit. But it's still really cool

Weather

My dog Sebatian hates thunderstorms Is terrified of them! (Big dog, all hair, teeth chattering ol' Mop ) I have to close my door and turn the volumn down, the Thunder is so realistic in this game! Love it. Wish it had snow as well. The best game for snow on the market now is Dungeon Siege. Graphics off the scale. The first time I emerged from a dungeon into the snow, my adventures got slaughtered because I was so enchanted by the visual effects that I didn't react in time.for the attack. Lost my mule too! So sad!

more fun things to do...

use a levitation constant effect item, go up really high, then summon a golden saint, and wave bye bye as it drops 20 stories and goes splat....hurts it really bad, and makes soul harvesting a breeze...you replace the constant effect item in your inventory with slowfall item, of course....or you would go splat too..hehheheh...

get about 50 points in jumping, and jump from town to town..best way to travel EVER....it makes morrowind travel system bearable...

Snow is implemented in the Wizard's Island megamod. It's also in the forthcoming Bethesda expansion, Bloodmoon.

When I started this game, I was wondering about snow too - that would be so cool! I also wonder why the Emperor never shipped any horses (or other personal means of transportation) over for his officers. I feel a bit stupid traveling via public conveyance when I look so obviously rich and resplendent!

I can't wait for the snow in Bloodmoon. It was great in Daggerfall and, if I remember correctly, footfalls were deadened as you walked through snow. Very atmospheric. I love Icewind Dale for the snow. The other day, I sat at the computer when suddenly a huge thunderstorm struck with loads of heavy rain. It took me ages to realize that the weather wasn't happening in the game but just outside the window!

I know I mention this in nearly all my posts but I definately agree with SSS about transport. PLEASE - bring back the horse and cart!!!!!!

I wonder just how many of you swit's (who are longing for snow in MW) actually live where it snows???

I long for the day when I can leave here (where it snows from Dec-Apr) and never see the stuff again!!!

It hardly ever snows where I live! Cosy in books but not so good in reality I suppose.

Often those bandits who attack you in caves will identify you as a 'swit'. You figure it out from there.
