Revisiting Baldurs Gate...

I decided to replay Baldurs Gate 2 just for the hell of it, and it's ok so far, the problem is, I've just come out of Irenicus's dungeon, and I'm going to grab my NPC's now. I have four already decided as definite:
My PC, a Cavalier, will have Viconia as the romance option, the problem is, I can't decide who else to have before Spellhold! I have Sola installed, and I will have him in the party, I haven't used him before, I just want to know who else I should have! I can't decide...
Any help?

I think you shoul use Korgan instead Minsc (because Mins + Viccy is a bad combination), and then add Edwin (the best wizard in the game)... but if you want to be good, you should use Anomen or Jaheira instead Viconia, and add Keldorn (True Sight/dispell magic habilities)

Well, since you are going to Spellhold to rescue Imoen, you might want to leave a vacant place for her...

I would agree with you Ihtafir, but I'm aiming to romance Viconia so she becomes True Neutral, I'll do the happy party addition as well, so that it stays safe. I just want Vicona as the option, I've never had her in a party for long. Consider it being the Cavaliers quest to reform her.
I am keeping a place for Imoen open, so I have one more place before leaving, thats my problem. I have a competent Mage and Thief, Cleric, and two Tanks, so I'm not short of a character class, I just don't know who to choose last!

Either Kelsey or Tashia, two new sorcerors, would be a great addition. Keldorn or Mazzy would do nicely too if you need another melee character.

Your Cavalier, Jan, Viconia, Minsc, Solaufein and Imoen make 6. You want to get someone with you just to leave them alone and frightened in the cold of the Underdark? That's evil for a Cavalier!
Take Yoshimo with you then. He does a good backstabbing job, and you can make Jan focus on pickpocketing, trap-setting and illusion detection while you leave trap-disarming and lockpicking for Yoshi (and later, Imoen).

6 is the amount of characters you can have! I'm not being evil!
I had a thought about it, and maybe Tashia sounds good, she is romanceable, right? Then I would have:
Connavar (Cavalier)
Tashia
Jan
Minsc
Solaufein
Imoen
Sarevok (in ToB for Imoen)
The problem there is lack of Cleric. Anomen instead of Minsc?

You forgot to account fot your love affair, Viccy..., altough she share your blanket, she won't share your party slot

Yep, your right. She's gone.
I think I've decided on the party pre-spellhold:
Connavar
Tashia
Jan
Anomen
Yoshimo
After Spellhold, Yoshimo is out (obviously) and Imoen in. Solaufein comes in at the Underdark and I'll end up with the following before the final battle:
Connavar
Tashia
Jan
Anomen
Imoen
Solaufein
For ToB I'll have Sarevok over Imoen. Sound good?

Anomen! Ok ok
How about Aerie? Cleric/mage at high levels really rocks! Once you get her to ToB, oh my...

Ack! I refuse to have the whiny Avariel! I could only just stomach her first time round.
