Just interested in hearing about your philosophies, be it original or something written by a great great dude a thousand years ago.
Please specify if you´re quoting.
One of my favorites is;
In the Midst of movement and chaos, keep stillness inside you. -Deepak Chopra.

Hmmm....Do you want quotes or personal philosophies?
Well heres my big personal philosophy:
My major characteristic is that Im an extreme naturalist. I think mankind has been the plague to this world, and we've built a grave for ourselves, and this planet, eventually. We dont care about the future and we havent for some time. We've permanently put ourselves in the hole, and there is endless killing to eachother and to nature. Some species of plant becomes extinct every week. Does the human race as a whole care? No. Also, I think if everyone had the ideals of animals, we would have never done this, and the world would act in concordance. Technology is ok, its a privaledge, but with privaledges come responsibility, and we just dont know how to handle it. Within the animal kingdom is innocence...nothing but innocence. There is no such thing as an evil animal. But in mankind, we will never reach that level. Never.
Thats why my avatars are animals most of the time. I take a special liking towards birds, mainly tropical, because not only do they look cool, but my only pet in the last decade was just that. A tropical bird. But any other animal in its own sense I find to be terrific.
So is that what youre looking for?

@Ty; Couldn´t agree more with you. I´m often thinking about that issue, and to be honest, I wish mankind had never existed. If I had the power, I would without a second thought undo man, and hope that the nature could sort itself out, as it have done before.
Both quotations and your own philosophies are welcome here!

Hmmm...I think youre the third person to agree with me that Ive informed about my philosophy.
Well I wouldnt undo the entire human race. But I wish there was a way that path that we've chosen that leads to the inevitable defeat, could have been altered. Heres where religeon steps into my philosophy.

See because, according to the Bible, and me being a Protestant, I believe that the Bible speaks pure truth, God created us as a shape of himself. And we are species he put his heart into in the end. To undo that would be wrong in my mind, but its the path we have chosen and these faulty decisions that I oppose.
Hmmmm...all my quotes are lyrics and have little to apply to my major philosophies.

I´m not much of a religious person myself, although I do not take distance to religion. In many cases, I find religion extremely interesting, and a lot of the great philosophers were Christian, too. William Blake, for instance.
I like to think that there´s a bigger purpose with mankind, but I must say it´s well hidden, with man created and ending as the Earth´s ultimate downfall.
EDIT: Ty, if you want, you could check out my website , in the poetry section (which is very unfinished) there´s some great philosophical quotations, IMO.

Tybb's & Jae:
Does either of you know much about Native American history & philosophies? I expect Tybb's would. Many tribes showed effective ways and means to coexist with nature. In some cases, they used the "technology" & knowledge of man to benefit nature, which in turn benefitted their people. Also, many tribes held belifs that nature was sacred, and should be treated as such.

*Sits down cross legged, and mysteriously grows a three foot long beard, and his hair turns stark white. On top of that, his clothes vanish, and are replaced by a single loin cloth. He places his hands, palms up, on his knees, and slowly rises up into the air*
Child, help can you... I Sage be I, advice sagely is that give I. *know* oneself cannot be until *aware* of is oneself. Mysterious route is this, give guidence you can.

I think I have some philosophies...but I can't think of any off the top my head. Lately, I seem to have fallen out of touch with myself...I'm not sure of anything anymore. Even reality and existance, let alone my own beliefs.
So, "Question Everything", I guess, would be a safe bet.

While I'd not challenge the value of questioning everything, I would also remind you to seek that which is constant. Look in yourself first. If you find nothing you can be sure of, try to find something. Try to identify what it is that defines you, so as not to loose touch with it. Too much questioning can be hard on a person.

quoted from my sig...My personal philosophy
The virtue of self sacrifice is the lie perpetrated by the weak to enslave the strong
Yep...That about sums it up

My own sig sums up mine as well...freewill is the key. The key to becoming who we are truly supposed to be. I think this is the only way to real happiness...the exercising of that which I possess being the only clear path before me. I have tried to walk down several, and found dead-ends...

I know
of that, but beyond knowing that they believed and did such stuff, I didnt research it any further. That would have been a lot of work. And I dont like work.
Re: Question Everything- Well its something Im beginning to come to terms with. But not EVERYTHING. Just human actions. I question many human actions when they are personal to me. Especially when its a good action towards me. I question that to no end. Im tired of people taking advantage.

Too much questioning can be hard on a person.
@Skooter But if you dont question enough, it will be harder on that person. If you dont question enough you'll get burned.

Help is an outside stimulus, and as such, would only detract from your search for Be. I may act as a guide to begin the journey, but the path you walk I cannot violate, lest I taint your perception
