at the basement of the knights of shining armor in the city core theres this forge for making special gear, right?
but everything i try to do (by the book of recipies) won't work. that little dwarf always says that i don't have the right ingridients for the weapon. what's wrong? how do i make myself some fly gear?
i got all sorts of weapons +1 and armor (for example breastplate +1) and i got the special holy water, the dragon blood, the fairy dust, 2 diamonds and a gargoyle's scull.
what to do, what to do?

"Book of recipies"

, isn't that in chapter 3 you get that or something like that? If you got it from the internet or something like that, it might not work. 'Cause youre meant to get it in chapter 3, they probably haven't programmed the smith in chapter 1 to be able to make the things from the list. You could test it by taking a scimitar and a piece of adamantite, and give it to the smith. He should then make you a Desert fire schimitar, or something like that.
Hope it helped.

The dwarf gives you the book in both chapter 1 and chapter 3. There is one little detail concerning the armours. The book says for example to place a magic armor of total AC:4 and a gargoyle skull. In order to construct this item you will need a studded leather armor +1 (normal AC:3 plus +1 bonus) or a leather armor +2 (normal ac:2 and +2 bonus). Also you cannot use weapons or armors that were created by another (items with special names than the standard +1, +2 ...).
I was able to create many items in chapter 1 though i regret it when i reached chapter 3.

You put both the items needed into the furnace and then talk to him that you want to constuct an item. If the ingedients are correct a new item will be found into the furnace.

I nevevr had that problem, If you can you might want to look into the script that is on the conversation event of the smith. Or of you don't want the game spioled try again with some other ingredients until one works. Or you can just live without any crafted items until chap2

If none of these works then i guess it is a bug, though i never heard of it. btw is your game patched?

Then i can only suggest to make a clean install of the game again, patch it and start over. It will propably fix the problems. While you are (if) still in chapter 1.

u mean to start the game from the beginning again or to use my saves after I re-install? 'cause starting over is just too much...

ur in chap 1 right? How hard can it be to restart?
It's not as if ur in chap 4 or something!
So my suggestion would be to reinstall it again.

The problem is, if you use your previous savegames you might have problems again, so yes i think it is better to start over. In any case there is a lot more gaming after chapter 1.
