music you'd like to see in an rpg

as everyone knows, or should know, most of the games we know and love (ex: baldur's gate II, morrowind, etc.) have incredibly wonderful music throughout their entirety.
however - can it be improved upon? have you ever heard an artist who's music would fit perfectly into an rpg? even if it may just be one song?
who?
as for me, i've heard
several groups / people that would work: (if you've heard of these, good for you..

)
dargaard, mortiis (specifically
the stargate,
stoa, in the nursery, juno reactor, shinjuku thief,
delerium (older stuff), ...i could keep going...
what do you think?
...and - apologies if this thread actually exists elsewhere...

I would love to have the composer of Outcast's music make more and more, it was wonderful, stirring and maudlin in equal measure.
Music converted to a game, it would depend entirely on the game, what genre did you have in mind?

Imagine, just after Koveras kills Gorion in BG, when you an Imoen set off, the game starts up with "its a hard nock life" from that musical, Annie.

I'd prefer Queen's "It's a hard Life"

I'd like to see more games with European medieval/Renaissance settings use music of, say, 1200-1500. There's a lot of it out there, and it's extremely atmospheric. There was one music type in resident at Microprose, about a decade ago, who had studied the period, and made a point of using it flavorfully. It gave a sense of realism to products like Darklands and the original M:TG.

Hey Fable - I'd like to see some modern classical music. Listening to Terry Riley right now - you know him?

Not personally, but yes.

I think Riley would make great accompaniment, but especially in some weird, alternate-world graphical adventure. I remember playing one about three years ago (can't recall it's name) where you moved among four worlds, one of which was patterned after Dali, while another looked like op art. Riley would have fit right in.

You know the game over music can also be substitute with Queen's "Another one Bites the Dust"
