While adventuring just north of the erabinimsum camp i stumbled across an ancestoral tomb. So i went in, to find a nord wearing a most powerfull trollbone helm. He attacked me, so i was forced to kill him. But directly after i delivered the killing blow i got a message at the bottom of my screen stating: The strand of prophecy has been cut, reload a save to continue. or something similar. What is this?

Better reload

I don't know who you killed, I'm taking the main quest slowly.

But when you get that message, you've just killed someone needed to complete the main quest.

Not sure why he attacked you outright, best to avoid that tomb until you are sent there.

Try using the spell calm humanoid and then talk to him and see if theres anything special about him.

If youre too lazy to reload, you can just keep playing, but it is required that you turn into a vampire. If you turn into a vampyre, you can complete the game even though, you kill all the people nedded to complete the main quest.

Actually......no. Not in this instance. While I don't recall the name of this guy, I can tell you 100% for sure that he is -not- involved in any way with the main plot. The 'you have broken the strand of prophecy' flag on him is in error, and should not be attached to him.

Have you gat the patch? It could stop such things from happening. :) It's always good to have the patch. :)

Yeah, I remember wandering around and whooping some fool named Crazy Bob - got that prophecy message.

I was a little disappointed since half the fun is tomb raiding and looting. Now, when I see a dungeon or other such place, I think twice about going in - never know if it's part of the main quest.

Still, it's nice to know that the game tells you right away, not 28 hours later when there's some damn door you can't open because Mo-Mo the wonder-orc ballet dancer had the key but you accidently cut him a new review.

Anyways.
