What is the logic for the order of names listed on the top? I thought is was based on when a member signed up, but it has changed recently. Just curious. (If this has been explained somewhere, please excuse my ignorance, and laziness for not searching more diligently.)

Jaesha is correct - from left to right is in order of older registered members to new members

No with Gamebanshee From those listed at the top, you joined GB first.

I am seeing things, Ysh. My screen shows me at the very right, Jaesha to the left, and HLD at the far left. Perhaps I have finally lost it.

Are you sure it's not the order you started browsing the current forum?

I show that right now McBane, Tom, VoodooDali, Vivien, Gwalchmai, Dottie, frogus, Jaesha and myself are browsing SYM, but I know that I registered before VoodooDali, Vivien, frogus and Jaesha (I haven't checked the others).

I know it has changed. It used to be based on when registered, I usually was listed closer to first, as I registered in Dec 2000. I thought maybe it changed to post count, as I am behind most, but Jaesha is listed before me, and he has less posts.

Even if I don't become a moderator, I will consult my Ouija board and Magic 8Ball™ when I get home tonight and find out.

The only thing I know is that I'm always on the right, always.

Frogus for instance is more to the left, and he registered later then me. So that isn't the system.

I am using IE 5(?), and it shows members displayed in chronological order of registration left to right - Kameleon on the left, Tybaltus on the right...
I think that the browser decides.

Same here. If you hover over each member name from left to right, in the explorer bar at the foot of the page you will see their member numbers increasing

My member number is 871, which is lower than everyone else up there except McBane and I still see my name on the far right.

I take it this has no bearing on your politics though

@HLD what browser do you use? Do the member numbers increase right to left with you? or is there no apparent order at all?

Ok, I will put myself on visible and I will guarantee on my screen I will be one place to the left of Gwally, since we are a member number apart

Heck!! you have broken the board! This afternoon remained as it had always been - by member number, but now it is by appearance on the board

I'm using IE6, and the current order as I see it is:

McBane, HighLordDave, Vivien, Bloodstalker, Tybaltus, Beowulf, /-\lastor, Mr Flibble

I know that I registered before /-\lastor, so it could be that your own name appears at the end of the list regardless. Anyone else seeing that?

At one time my browser (IIRC) did show by members browsing the current forum..(As HLD said). Now it is not.

Check this one... I'm 357, but listed to the far right.

I'm using IE5.5 and I see Yshania between Bloodstalker and Gwalchmai (go, boys!) with my name at the far right. I think Mr Flibble may be right about this.
