A New Mod? No Spam

Well after the Mr Sleep stepped down? thread, I think it might be an idea to get a poll going in a new thread. Post your nominations and then we'll vote. I hope that you don't mind Buck...

I think that second-guessing Buck is a bad idea, but I also believe (no offence to other mods ) that Sleepy was a vital and very important mod, and definately needs replacing . However, I think it would be cruel to vote for someone without knowing if they actually want mod status...Well, I guess that can be decided afterwards...Maybe we can vote, and then pick the most popular people, and then have them act as candidates, possibly making a short speech to try and impress us with their applicable skills and suitability .
Anyway, I think that HLD and Mah are probably the most suitable candidates, but I feel strongly that Ode to a Grasshopper would be an excellent choice. I know that he is not a real old-timer, and that he has tendencies to flirt, SLURR etc, but when I think about his actual character, he strikes me as being one of the most level-headed, rational, peaceful and charismatic members there is. I am sure that he has been less offensive than almost anyone else to sign up here, and can certainly diffuse an argument.
I think that Ode is the person best equipped with the skills which a mod needs, and that Sleepy has.

Personally....I'm not sure it is the best idea to pre-empt Buck on this issue..... However, my thoughts are that this forum does need another mod and that Sleep will be difficult to replace. In this light, assuming the powers that be are considering such a path, I nominate Gwally, as I did in the other thread. He possesses very sound judgement, has a great sense of humour and is one of the most even-keeled members of this board. However, I am not entirely certain that he wants to assume the role so I place my vote bearing that in mind.

@Ysh.... I did not mention you again here because you seem to have indicated you would rather not take on the role, but I still think you would also be awesome.

If asked, I would take the job and do it to the best of my ability. I owe SYM and Buck that much. However, there are many qualified people here who could serve and serve well. Surely this is a Buck’s decision to make.

Gwally, Ysh if she wanted it , DW, HLD, Ned, Bloodstalker, Nippy if he were around more

How could I forget McBane?? He's here a lot as well and his lawyerness would come in handy.

Basically I shouldn't have joined this thread as I think many people could be very good mods...I have not nominated others as they're not around when I am so I haven't seen them in action OR they argue with me too much and being a mod would give them unfair power and I would have to beat them...

So, is Buck going to read this thread? Maybe I should go change into a skimpier outfit...

Personally, I believe Yshania would be the best, but I somehow doubt she wants the job (who wants to look after a forum full of spammers while she has children at home in the real life?).

Gwally would be great for the job; only one concern is all mods (and Buck) will be in the USA. No mods can be here while the US is in the night. We just need Big Brothers to keep eyes on us as long as possible in the SYM.

(Mind you, it's nothing to do with nationalism or something like that, and I don't believe Gwally, or fable and T'laniya for that matter, will be unfair to non-American people.)

I think I agree with Minerva for this, some of you guys from across the pond aren't here when us European's or Aussies, or anything else are on-line. I think it might be an idea for another nationality, but it's not my choice...

well...assuming there is a plan to continue with three mods... how about Maharlika? I think he would be excellent.

Well there are plenty of things one needs to do to be a mod. I think theyve all been addressed, so Ill cut right to the chase.

Mah is a good choice, I forgot about him in the other thread-Sorry Mah!

@Tyb, thank you for including me in your list of nominees However, beyond the fact that I think there are people far better qualified than myself ( I can have a nasty temper and I lack patience ), I inhabit the same time zone, moreorless, as Gwally and T'L.

Well I have never seen you blow a fuse, so Im just going with the knowledge Ive got. I can hardly imagine you blowing a fuse, though. You always seem so level-headed, calm, cool and collected.

The time zone thing.....yeah but thats not your fault.

Mr Flibble would be good. Because his knowledge can help Buck to build "Anti-Weasel Wall" for his server to prevent someone from trying to break in AGAIN.
