What do you think of the ECL races?
Are they balanced? If anyone has used/is using a Deep Gnome, how do they handle themselves in the game??
I would expect that they would need alot of micromanagement to keep them alive at the beginning but later in the game they become more powerful.

I don't have the game yet, one of the annoying things about living in the UK. I am actually considering importing IWD2, because the last I heard was that the release date could be October 25th, which quite honestly sucks. The thing is I'm a little apprehensive, because I have NEVER bought anything online.

i did not try the duergar but have an aasimar paladin and an tiefling thief/barbarian.
the progression is a bit slower but due to special rules they start as your other party.

i think this is a bit unbalanced, but i just started to play and maybe its getting annoying lateron,
but atm i think its a good thing, especially the aasimar.

The ECL races are an option; like any option, the results depend upon how you use it. For example, I chose a Drow for my Bard, since I wanted a good spellcaster, firstclass diplomat and great archer. The slight loss in levels I can live with, since my Wizard and Cleric are Humans.
