I dont know what class to play. I have a few that ium interested, but i dont know what is fun. I just want to play a fun and interactive class. The ones that im interested in are stalker, mage, fighter/mage, berserker/mage, fighter/thief, assassin/fighter, and assassin/mage.
Im open to anything else. I just want to have a cool and effective character that is alot of fun to play.
I have the experience cap taken off. I plan on having a mage heavy party. I want to have this experience full of role playing.
Thanks for you help

A Berserker/Mage is so awesome, and so much better than a Kensai/Mage(you'll hear some opposition on this one). Also a Fighter/Thief is a great class out of the ones you listed leaving room to fill your party with all the magic you desire. But then there's the Sorceror. If you don't have Kelsey or Tashia mods then definately play a sorceror. BTW what size party will you be playing with?

i planned on playing a small party of three or four. I liked being a thief. I also love the mage. Each of these are cool but seperate they are rather boring to me

I love playing small parties, and I'm actually running a 3 man myself at the momment. Here's a damn good idea for a 3 man party:
Tashia/Kelsey(depending on if you're a guy or gal for the romance)
Jan because he's my favorite PC and he's good at what he does
PC Fighter/Cleric
I'm running this party at the momment, and I find myself rarely engaging in melee. Most of the time my PC blocks some shots as the other two sling magic missiles and other stuff. It's very magic heavy.

...here's one opposition coming up...
... I think the kensai/mage combo is better since you get the most out of each class. I suggest though a smaller party of three or four so that you can get more xps in a shorter time for the mage class to overtake your kensai level.
You always need a thief, IMO. Either get Jan or Imoen, or create your own (via multi player option).
It would be interesting if you've got a wizard slayer in your group.

If you go with a mage-heavy party, get a PC who can fight and cast, and then add:
Aerie
Cernd
Anomen
Imoen
Haerdalis
You should be able to mutilate anything you come into contact. I finished with those 5 and a berserker. It was simple and I was able to wing a ton of magic missiles at everything.

If this is your first run through of the game, I'd suggest a full party of npc's, just to give you a better feel for the game.
A stalker, is, imo, great. I love it.
A good course of action, is find 2-3 classes or combos you really like, then pick NPC's from the that you would like, then narrow it down to 1.
best of luck.

I agree that a berserker/mage is more powerful.
I simply find a kensai/mage more stylish, more fitting as
a character and in the end more fun to play!
I tried both...

Fighter/Mage/Theif.
Fighter/Mage/Theif or Monk they are both Extremly effectiv Classes.
Fighter/Mage/Theif is perfect as a solo Character.
Monk is good with Party
