Terror Tapes - Al Qaeda Video Tapes

So whose seen this thing on CNN yet?
According to CNN they have gotten 64 tapes of Al-Qaeda training, using chemical weapons and of OBL.
I am just wondering, how the heck did CNN get a hold of these, when CIA, FBI, NSA, God knows what else are in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi, Yemen etc and they dont have these things.
Also why arent they been checked by the above organizations throughly to see if any of the land marks on the tapes can be pin pointed in real life on the groun etc.
Why are these tapes being clipped and shown to the masses?
It will just cause panic etc.
My verdict: I dont believe it.
I cant believe that OBL would have himself videotaped after getting outside of Afghanistan and then let all 64 tapes be found.
It just doesnt make sense.
If they were good enough to do all the attacks and not get caught, how come these tapes arent being destroyed instead are showing up at CNNs doorstep.

Yes, I saw this earlier today, what is the explanation of how those tapes got in the hands of CNN?

I cant find any.
I watched in CNN like 20 min ago.
So i havent done much research.
The muslim newspapers will carry this as front page news, so they will most likely have an inking of how CNN got the tapes.
I havent found a link on the CNN website on how they got the tapes.
IF anybody knows of a credible link, i would love to see it.
This smells to be another farce like the OBL tape where you didnt see his face properly and neither hear what he said clearly.

CNN unlike the government can and will have contact with groups like this. Any reporter for a "Western" news group would, if given the chance, interview OBL.
As to why Al-Qaeda would allow it....most likely they have moved on to different tactics and anything CNN shows will be old news to them.
Second they understand doing this will make Bush and his War seem to be failing.

I could see that weasel.
However CNN should give an explanation on how they got it.
Otherwise who would believe that CNN got hold of 64 tapes that detail the methods Al/Qaeda uses.
It is far-fetched to say the least.
I could understand it if Rumsfeild said he and the govt had the tapes.
They are running all over Afghanistan after all.
But if CNN got them and the Govt is leaking this info, it is giving Al-Qaeda a heads up that they have to change everything.
Then they go deep underground and there goes the war.

Saw the news this morning. But with Bush campaigning against terrorist like a frantic man screaming with a megaphone, all seems like a poker game between Bush and OBL

In the end the victims are mostly the innocents

According to Swedish press, a CNN reporter called Nic Robson got these tapes from "a source" in Afghanistan who Robson met after a 17 hour drive from Kabul. According to Robson's "source" the tapes were found in a house that was formerly used by Bin Laden.
To me, it sounds like the bands are either fake, or Al-Queda wish to use CNN to spread a certain message.

Nearly all the tapes pre-date last year's September 11 terror attacks.
CNN Senior International Correspondent Nic Robertson obtained the tapes from a source in Afghanistan, following a 17-hour drive from Kabul through treacherous terrain to a remote part of the war-torn country. According to the source, the tapes had been found in an Afghan house where bin Laden had stayed.

So what do you think about it? I haven't seen any extracts from the tapes, do they look authentic?

A group with enough brains to stage the attack it did, letting tapes accidently fall into CNN's hands..
They know , or have to know Bush has asked no tapes to be played...and CNN thinks..and most likely can run the tapes.
As CE said...Use CNN to spread your message....but do it with outdated tapes.

Hey thanks Weasel.
Thanks alot.
I would agree with CE on this.
They are fake in my opinion, or the Bush Admin is stupid to let the tapes out like this.
As they said before the tapes were used to convey signals to attacks and plotters.
This might also be the case now.

I have come to believe CNN doesn't have any tapes and have put up false links to the video. OR they need to cut the salaries of their employees and spend the money toget a better provider for their internet site.

You have to pay CNN to access their streaming video. If you aren't part of their premium content subscription service, you can't watch any video at their site.

Yes, when I tried to lead the video, I got no error but a message telling me that I needed to be a subscriber. Perhaps they will show the video or say something more on the news on TV, so I'll turn the TV on and wait.
It is not unlikely that the Al-Queda see a point in demostrating they have chemical weapons, I remember they insinuated that last year.

Well I arrived late for this thread, as usual. Well, I agree with Fas. These tapes are fakes. I truly beleive that the media will do anything for people to view them, for money, and for prestige. Media isnt honest anymore and I am always skeptical when I hear stories on the news. And often times, media perverts things to make their view stronger than the truth.

Thanks
I choose to wait. I see no reason to pay for a News service I can get on the TV...unlike GB which I can't get on TV.

Since the tapes have been out for a couple of days, the other media outlets may have licensed their broadcast from CNN; you guys might try
http://www.cbsnews.com or
http://www.nbcnews.com which do not charge for you to view their streaming video.
