I used to play bg2tob on my 400, now I bought a new computer, a amd2000xp with a gf4 and the game speed is way too fast. My fighter´with 3 attacks makes ~3 attacks per second, meaning that one round is 1 second!

Anyone know how to slow it down again?

Are you sure you're not having us on? I switched from a 466 to a 1300 about a year ago. There was no perceptible difference in the speed of gameplay; only in loading between areas.

no I am serious. it´s probably the graphicscard. could it be something I can change in the ini-files?

I've never heard of this before, and i don't have time to experiment now, but changing these options in the baldur.ini file might help:
Maximum Frame Rate=30
Automated Speed Adjustment=1
Extra Feedback=0
I'm only sure about what the first one does :) but the other two sound kinda promising, try changing them around and maybe you'll get lucky.

Isn't 'extra feedback' something to do with the text that appears in the text box?

An older game of course, but I noticed a huge difference of speed when replaying BG1 on an Athlon 800 (I originally played on a Celeron 300). The characters were constantly running for one thing.

Most older games have runtime-protections-not in .ini but Hex-hided in the .exe-file(s).
Guess BG1 doesn't have it.
Maybe you could check the web for it, there oughtta be someone who created it?
