multiplayer etiquette question part 2

Is this what I can expect or did I run across a bunch of jerks?

I opened a multiplayer game. Then in then in the chat screen I asked if anyone wanted to play. I noted that I was in chap 1.

At first things went well. One player came in and we worked out a bit of a strategy. I did notice he had a hundred and something hps but didn't think too much about it. It did seem a bit much for chap 1.

After a bit some others joined in. Many had 200, 300+ hps. They spent a lot of time talking about what I guess were other games they played. Then they'd run around killing everything in sight.

Really ruined the experience. Is this what I can expect? Is there anyway to limit access and still allow access to others without having to use a password? Or will I have to stick with single player to keep it kind of "real"?

Try going to the Roleplaying sections. Look for gamers that are serious, try joining the Blades of the Banshee and Argyle. You'll find people there that Roleplay and won't hack characters.
