Everytime I start a new program, especially java related one. I tend to witness my humble little explorer dying on me, ie. illegal operation program closing meaning an annoying reboot.

That above is the message given, do I need a new PDM.dll whatever that is, and where do I get it?

Did you download IE6 from Microsoft or install it from a CD? Your source data may have been corrupt and you might try downloading it from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com You might also check and see if there are any IE6 patches available from them too.

I got it from a CD, so it may be a bad source.

This is a known bug with PDM.DLL version 6.0.0.8169.
PDM.DLL is the Process Debug Manager library that comes with Outlook 98 and above, MS Visual Studio6, MS Visual Basic and MS Script Debugger.

According to the Microsoft knowledge Base, you should be able to safely rename this file (it can be found in your \windows\system folder) or upgrade it to a newer version. If you would like to try a newer version of the file I have a copy of version 7.0.9064.9112 here that I can email to you.

Its alright Flibble I'm sure one of the IT guys at campus would be able to point me to one. Being on a dial-up, I tend to avoid downloading anything too big. If I can get it off a CD, then thats the way I tend to go.
