Magic recepies [spoiler]

In ch2 you can find alot of those tomes that tell you how to make magical items. Are they done the same way as potions? If yes does it mean you have to be a mage/sorcerer to do it?
Well....
Have never tried to make poitions, but the way I've made items is by placing the ingredients in a wizards lab/Alchymist lab (can't remember what they are called in-game) and cast the spell on it.
You don't have to be a arcane spell user to get these items made (it certainly help) a rogue could also do it (use magic item) or if you find an item that cast a specific spell (ei. (minor spoiler) you find a ring that can cast Melfs Acid Arrow) - that will be usable also.
