Right-click on the trapped object. Options for examining, flagging, disarming, and retrieving the trap will (should) come up.

You have to spot the trap first (search skill). You can only disarm a trap once you have spotted it, which is where the chest/door glows red.

You can spot many traps automatically when you're running around, provided you have some points in search. However, when moving normally you only use half your search skill, which means you will not spot the more difficult traps (this is true of all races except the elf). To use your full search skill you have to be an elf, or activate Detect Mode, which is the special ability that has a magnifying glass icon. I normally stick Detect on my quick bar and activate it while stood near a chest just to make sure I spot any traps that might be present.

Even then, you won't spot all traps, because there is an element of luck involved.

Your first rouge huh? Are you gonna go for some eye shadow too? That sounds like a good combination to me but I just can't think how it will help you find traps. Hehe sorry had to do it. Don't mean to be a nitpicker about spelling but the switching of rogue for rouge makes me bust up every time.

This was one of the biggest pet peeves the regulars of Diablo's b.net forums ... people saying rouge.

Please don't make fun of people and their spelling(mistakes) - shifting the u and g around is a extreemly common mistake wich I find I do often myself.
Many people here aren't english as primary language, so mistakes and especially typos shouldn't be used for punchlines.

Stupid question, but I failed to see this one myself first time - do you have skill points in disarm traps? - otherwise you can't disarm.

Just a little jab and all in fun. I fully expect the same when I make a screw-up. And as for making fun of people, had I meant to be rude and make fun of Zul I wouldn't have put the smiley in the post or apologized in the next sentence.

Might be so - but such jabs belong in SYM or another more "spam-friendly" forum.
This forum is for NwN related stuff, and while we are here to have fun, it shouldn't be on the expense of others :)

I would most certainly, in this forum, not want people to use my spelling mistakes as punchlines, in SYM sure, but not in these forums.
