To be or not to be???

I'm new to Neverwinter Nights, just bought it a few days ago. I'm currently a level 4 Paladin with Sharwyn as my henchwomen, I've been thinking of whether is would be wise to stick solely as a Paladin or to multi to a Rogue so I can dissarm traps etc. Should I do one or the other or does anyone have any better ideas.
I also have abseloutly no intention of dumping Shar...I'm hooked on her hehe, j.k. she's actually quite a good partner, good as a fighter, mage and thief, even though she is a bard, just not exceptionally brilliant at them all.
All opinions would be appreciated, thanx.

I advise to stay a paladin, as a spellcaster you should aviod multiclassing.

Well, multi-classing a spell-using class may or may not be a bad idea (Sorcerer, Wizard, or even Cleric), but it really boils down to personal preference and if you're into role-playing or not.
The Paladin is already a weak spellcaster, so if you take a level or two of rogue you won't lose much, while getting plenty of skill points to use for rogue skills.
Personally, I take multiple classes just for the free feats and skills, because I have fun doing it. If you're a power gamer, then avoid multiclassing...the game is playable on a lot of levels and it caters to a lot of different tastes. I think taking a level of rogue to augment your pally build is a good idea

dont multi.. use trial and error on trapped chests to see if you can just buff your way out of dieing. and why did you choose to be a paladin?? i assume for role playing reasions, but He is one of the weaker classes despite what enyone else tells you. If you wanted a fighter class you should of used a fighter or barb.

Since when was it important to be a 'strong' class? Paladins are good for RP purposes and they have a lot of abilities and spells you can mess around with. I admit that I think the spells are pretty weak and I'd probably mix my Paladin with some Fighter levels just to get some more feats to play with. But that's me.
I think the decision about whether to mix a paladin with another class or stay pure is really down to personal preference. Traps and locks are a pain if you have no rogue skills or a rogue henchman (Sharwyn can open locks but not disable traps). However, Paladins have good saving throws if you went with a high charisma so you should be able to survive most traps, especially if you wear elemental resistances.
