I don't know whether this is the right forum to post this question, but here it comes:
I have builded a website and submitted it to various (many) search engines. No matter how small the engine is and how many search words type in the engine's searcher, I have NEVER founded myself on one of them (I always stop at number 600 or so).
I have added many meta-tags to the head of my homepage, but nothing works
Can anyone help me with this???
Thanks

They seem okay to me, you might wish to condense them down a little to be more specific to your area.
A few things you might want to know about search engines:
1) don't submit more often than 1 a month, they don't take kindly to it
2) it takes at least 6 weeks to be registered with a search engine, so there is no reason to over submit at any point.
3) be patient, it takes over a year to properly appear in such a high traffic area, games is one of the most highly worked on sections of the internet so it will take a long time
I will continue when i have more time.

Thanks for now.
But one more question:
I SHOULD be able to find my site in the engines right? Why is it then that I can't find it at the first 600?? It could be because I have subscribed only 4/5 wekks ago. Why does it take 6 weeks?
Ah well,as they say in Holland:
Patience is a beautiful thing (geduld is een schone zaak)

Since you know something about publishing websites, I have another question for you:
How can I get companies to advertise on my site? They ask me, or I ask them? Where can I find them? And stuff like that...
thanks again

Not for a while, you will probably be found miles down the list, it depends what you search for. It takes upwards of 6 weeks because they stifle the submissions so their databases don't become over crowded with new content. As i say you wont be found in the first 600 for a long time... it also depends greatly on the search engine as to how they deal with your submission...
Indeed it is

Actually i don't know that much about that area, we never advertise on our sites (bar 2) so i am not involved in that area. You would have to create affiliate links i believe try contacting Bol.com or someone like that.

Heh -I've never had problems with submitting to search engiens.
I've had sites submitted to Yahoo, Jubii (danish search) and vaiorus others - infact I have had more problems getting removed again
As for the ad. thingy - there are some banner services out there.
Don't know if the old one I used still exists, but it could be a start. (one was called LinkExchange IIRC - can't remember the other I used)

Was it a specialised field and how long ago was it?

What is your URL?
Is it a personal domain name you own or is it hosted by Yahoo or something?
Web crawlers have a a lot of web to crawl through!

It is hosted by lycos (it is the site in my signature). I also use fantasyfans.tk , should I also submit that to the engines??
