Once your BAB gets higher than +5 youll see the extra attacks listed on your character sheet with your weapon stats.

Base Attack Bonus. Every class has a chart that they run on, these are printed in the book that came with the game. Basically it is a bonus dependent on class level that is added to every attack roll you make. High for warriors, medium for priests, rogues and monks, and low for mages.

lol. I know in the BG games it made a difference, they even gave you charts in the back of the manual, but I don't see those in NWN. Maybe it's a 3rd Edition thing?

In 3rd Edition weapon speed has been removed therefore your weapon has no effect on the number of your attacks, with a few exceptions. If you are using ranged weapons, except crossbows, and have the rapid shot feat you can choose to take an extra attack per round with a -2 penalty to all attacks that round. This doesnt have to be done all the time. The other exception is for the monks. Monks get a greater number of attacks per round than any class, they recieve a new attack each time BAB gets 3 higher instead of the normal 5, but only when fighting unarmed or with certain monk specific weapons, such as the kama.
