Thoughts, flames, whatever, personnally, well, I can only wonder if the *ahem* elder members of the moderating staff are having *ahem* difficulties and have made some recommendations... or are taking bribes

Well, people have always wondered about the mating habits of weasels.... I don't know who, but I'm some people did.

I'm pretty disappointed with a lot of the popups we've been getting from our agencies lately. They're completely unrelated to our type of audience and some (like the one you mentioned) are just downright embarassing.
Having said that, I'm going to be announcing a serious change within a few days that will include both good *and* bad news for GameBanshee visitors. The only reason I mention this is because one change will be the removal of popups on the site. Stay tuned.

*Thinking out loud* if there are no pop ups, where can Buck appreciate an income to support this site?...could this be the 'bad' news?
Maybe paid membership or otherwise posting limitations? if this is the bad news, it is not the worse IMO....

I have to agree.
On one hand, I have gotten used to the popups...(Something I thought I would never get use to) I believe this was because they only happened at certain times of the day. The sad thing was they were/are getting worser content wise. (Like I want to explain to my 6 year old niece about goat weed)
Good or bad...the site most have money to live. I don't see the government helping a gaming site, so it will have to be the people.
(Thinks a moment.... what if Buck charge by every post )

Personally, I would be happy to pay a subcription fee. Game Banshee is a great site, not just just because of the information it offers, but also because people here generally respect one another, unlike other gaming sites I've encountered...*shudder*
I have made some very good friends here as well, and I love the sense of community that has been created on these boards.....

My sentiments entirely. Buck has provided this space and mainly at his expense, it is the members here that make it as special as it has become. We should help out, it is worth it as a community....this has all been said before, no doubt Buck has seen a few dollars come in on the occasions we have remembered...my sense is that he is likely to request a little more commitment, and rightly so IMO...

@Nippy-I think it's more the 'weed' bit that was done out of consideration to us SLURRs.
I, like Weasel, have gotten used to the pop-ups. Unfortunately if Buck starts charging a subscription I'll no longer be able to afford to visit GB until I find some employment, a task that has proven to be more difficult than I imagined.
*Awaits the news with a drink in hand and a feeling of slight trepidation*

I still have to send money to buck - but i can get away with some of it at this time.
But if you have to pay to be a member, i don't have the mollah for that, unless it is like 10 to 15 dollars a year.
Second i don't have a credit card so i can't pay that way either.
I am very worried about the situation.
I love Gamebanshee, this is a great place esp. SYM.
I would hate to leave this place.

I think that Buck may just focus on the Game Banshee site instead of the actual forums. The guides are a valuable source of information, but then again a similar thing did happen to IGN. The boards went Insider only.
