is there a way to exchange equipment with your henchmen, the manual doesn't seem to mention this or atleast I haven't seen it. Anyways, if anyone knows for sure please tell me. your replies would be greatly appreciated.

There doesn't seem to be a way - you can hand them potions and they will use them - but this seems to be the only way to give them anything.
If anyone out there finds another way please let us know!

Their equipment starts out comparably better than your own, they all have + 1 weapons, and it gets better as they level, there is really no need to adjust their inventory.

exactly. The henchmen do fine, they are quite well equipped. When you get a little team of you, a henchman, your familiar, and some summons going it is quite an effective little army.

...until you try to direct any of 'em to take out the mage at the back of the attacking group who's preparing a dirty big spell.

Good thing I play sorceror. My strategy is go for the enemy spell casters and leave my henchmen/summon/familiar to protect me. The only problem that I have come accross, so far, with this strategy is fighting a group of archer and fighter, cause then my henchmen/summon/familiar all go for the fighters, and those archers seem smart enough to go for me, and unless they are really crappy archers I usually end up dead.
