Hi, How are you?

Haven't been in SYM in a while. First Morrowind was to blame. I've also spent a lot of time reading, especially a really great fantasy novel called Perdido Street Station by China Mieville.
Then my grandfather became really ill, and I flew back to see him for a week. He died right after I came back home. He was 90 years old.
Anyway, just wondering how everyone has been? I know there's no way I could catch up on 3 or 4 weeks of SYM! Anything major happen?

He hee hee I've got a new girlfriend.... Yeah shut up. It's after
14 days that I officially have to stop bringing her up in every post I make

.
I'm very sorry about your grandfather, but 90 is a good age to have lived to. He did well, and I hope it isn't too hard on you.
Anyway, I for one have missed immensely your incredibly long posts and dodgy jokes...good to see you again...

heya. welcome back.
i'm not sure if you would have seen the DF's hostile takeover of the board, where 5 out of the 6 top threads were theirs
other than that low point, not a lot happened of note

Hey VD. First, my condolences about your grandfather.
Now, to answer your question, I'm on top of the world right now! I just went to a Prom with the girl I've cared about for the longest time, and it's looking up from there.

Hello VooDoo, I've been wondering where you were. I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather

Like Frogus posts, 90 is a very good age to live too, but the personal loss is always difficult even if we know this, isn't it.
I haven't been here a lot myself for the last 3-4 weeks, and I've mostly been posting about the World Cup in Football. As for me personally, I've worked a lot as usual, I've been to a very interesting multidisciplinary conference about behavioural genetics, and I've been watching football
Welcome back!

Hi V, welcome back, and I am sorry to hear about your Granddad *hug*.
For me, this week has been busy especially, I have taken leave from work and am yet to catch up with CE in the World Cup thread

I guess she is waiting

@Voodoo, glad to see you with us. A shame about your grandfather, but I hope he lived a full life, and that you had a good opportunity to bid him farewell.
I also know what you mean by Morrowind--didn't I recommend it to you, in the first place?

I suppose I should be ashamed, but I'm not. It's taking up my time, as well.
By the way, there's a Dali Museum my wife and I visited in St Petersburg, Florida, which is well worth seeing if you're ever down there. If not, you *can* purchase the t-shirt, at

Heya Voo, *hug* things have been much the same as always, following Eerhardt's, Beldin's and my threadjacking of the 2nd DF discussion thread, which lead to the current set-up of a DF tavern and seperate discussion thread. Stilgar and Archeron have joined the Rolling Thunder as the respective masseur/DJ and bartender, so if you want a massage come and talk to Stil.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather, my own grandfather passed away following a stroke 3 weeks before his 90th birthday a few years back.
Beldin became Viv's slave for about three days before she went looking for another one, Viv also decided that my perma-hug to Georgi apparently makes me Georgi's slave, a state of affairs which has had surprisingly little impact upon my activities here at SYM, all things considered. It's not so bad.

Sorry to hear the bad news, but as everyone says, 90 is a full life.
As to the board.....nothing but spam fill waste bogging down the true goal of COMM. Maybe you can shed some light on the board and force this darkness away!

Welcome back Voodoo,
Condolences on your grandfather passing away.
As for SYM, well a certain group has returned and have already begun COMMing away. A few people have come and gone as a result of a few bad comments. Apart from that, SYM is just the same as before...

Glad to see you again, Voo... that brings back memories
Like Ode said, you're welcome for a massage, a chat or a drink in our Mobile Party Thread
(TM), just check the Rolling Thunder link in our sigs and feel free to drop by.
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather's death, even if 90 is quite a lifespan. How're you coping?

Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I hope you are doing okay.
The board is pretty much the same. Things go in cycles. Weasel is having one of his "rodent moments". I've only seen one piece of real COMM outta him. The rest has been meat product....
And as you can tell from the first page, the DFs have hardly 'taken over the board'.
Check out Bloodstalker's Journey thread.... LOL!

Mama Mia!
Sorry about your granddad. I just lost my grandmom barely three weeks ago. Took me quite sometime to accept it but I'm fine now. Hope you are too.
Missed you, so much Mama VooD! Welcome back!
BTW, please, please, please, don't "desecrate"
our Men's Room again, please?

Don't worry, we've desecrated their Bunny's thread.

Thanks everyone for the condolences. I don't know what the deal is but today I found out that two more friends of mine died. One was the bass player in an Austin band called the Hickoids, a really nice guy named **** Hayes. He was only 45 and died in his sleep of a heart attack about a year ago, but I didn't find out until now. The other friend was an old poet named Albert Huffstickler who was a great pal and mentor to me--that still has me feeling low. He died about a month ago from an aortic hernia. I guess that's part of getting older, seeing people die around you...
Anyhoo, so Frogus and Aegis have girlfriends now! That's so cool. Do they post on SYM too or are they going to? Are they gamers? spammers? whateverers?
Hey Fable, thanks for the Dali museum recommendation--I'm going to be in Florida after Christmas, and will definitely check that out.
Georgi and Viv have new slaves! Alright!!! The stategy for world domination seems to be paying off, one SYMer at a time...
Wish I'd been around for all the hostile takeovers.
One of my vows is to just jump into the DF story, since I've finally come to grips with the fact that I will never ever finish all of their books.
I could definitely use a massage, and may look into the Rolling Thunder massage, although I'm somehow convinced that Gwally gives the best massages around though I've yet to sample one.
Maharlika, I thought about you while all this was happening, since one of my last posts was condolences to you. As for the Men's Room, I can't promise anything if I have to much to drink in one of the taverns and can't find a restroom and have to enter the pee-soaked Men's Room again. Also, if you remember, both Georgi and I desecrated it.
