But my dear, you
are in the gutter... you posted the link after all...

Besides, I didn't mean anything gutterish, I merely found that sentence rather amusing

I was doing an online search for something quite mundane actually.

Yes, especially all we who don't have PMS/PMDD...

ie a majority of fertile women...

Indeed, Though I would still pick him before the calendar.

Of course, "ultimate" does mean "final", and giving either gift to a PMS-afflicted woman is likely to cause the end of
something.

Me too, if I had to chose between the two - the man on the pic, however mean he looks, might still be useful for
something.
@Kid: If both I and Dottie developed acute mean-man-picture induced PMS, we might need the calender after all
Seriously though, this PMS-thing irritates me a bit, both the popular exaggregation of the syndrome (only about 35% of all fertile women experience PMS, and a only a few percent have problems that interfere with their daily functioning) and that some women tend to exaggregate their own PMS and use it as an excuse to behave badly towards people, especially their partner. It's quite interesting to note that when you ask a population of healthy women to self-rate their own PMS-syndrom,
many more of them report they have PMS than when a professional clinician rate the same women according to the set criteria for PMS/PMDD. (PMDD is the severe version of PMS).
However, there are women who suffer from severe symptoms, and for those women, there is efficient treatment. PMS/PMDD is currently hypothesied to be due to the serotonin system responing to strongly to the natural hormonal fluctuations in the menstruation cycle, so stabilising the serotonin system with an SSRI pill one or two days a month ususally fixes the problem
