Second level catacombs - Scarred Elven Key

Here's hoping someone can help me.

I have completed the game and have sent Kya Mordrain and Pendralaar to the happy hunting grounds, and am now wandering about completing quests I didn't get around to before I got to Castle Cormanthor.

I have just gone and placed the Sword of the Eye in the tomb and freed Miroden SilverBlade, and according to the walkthrough, should now have found that Beriand has been kidnapped, but nope, he is still happily healing me everytime I walk into his treehouse. Which is a bummer, because I am trying my damnedest to get into the area sealed by a door (area 54 on the second level catacombs map) and him being kidnapped should result in a portal opening in the tree house once I have banished the Cult members that are supposedly in the tree house.

Alternatively, according to the walkthrough, the Scarred Elven Key is available off some Orog Marauders that are supposed to be in area 52, but all I find there are rocks and beams lying around.

Any ideas anyone? I'm going nuts here ... err wait, too late for that. Already missing a few screws.

Thanks in advance for any help that is forthcoming.

Firstly FYI by placing Baneblade Faervian (sword of the eye) into the tomb of Hachaam Selorn at the main halls you will be informed of how to aquire another great weapon of the game, the Baneblade Morvian. Miroden Silverbalde is the baelnorn that is held captive down the prizons by the cult.

I don't know if you can still do the Beriand quest after you complete the game, but at some point after you free Miroden and cleared most of the elven catacompps returning to Beriand's tree house you will find that he has been kidnapped by the cult.

As for the Scarred elven key, it should have been there ... another one of the strange dissapearing keys in the game   . What patches do you have installed?

Welcome to the forums :)

Oops, I meant Hachaam Selorn, thanks for pointing that out Demis

I am currently downloading patch 1.4, but am up to date on previous patches. I'll see what happens after I install it.

Thanks for the welcome :)
