Nope, no pause.
Playing online would be impossible with a pause button. And the action buttons are really easy to use so time wouldn't be a problem. Every turn takes 5 seconds, you have that time to change actions.

The single player game will have a pause feature. However, in multiplayer, you will not be able to pause the game.

Every turn takes 5 seconds
so the game will be turn based?

@ Gaxx, no it won't.
@Rattman, every turn takes 5 seconds. In other words, after every action you take it will take 5 seconds before you can do something else. (unless you have more then one attack per round.) So everybody will have rounds for him to attack in, but the action will be in real time.

Just a slight correction
a turn takes 6 seconds, not 5...
Don't want to be annoying

To expand on this cause people seemed to miss it.
There is a pause (well they've said this often - but they might remove it

) in the single player game.
There can't be a pause in multiplayer - what would you do - halt time for all players in the game (like BG2?)
Think of one player being able to halt time for 63 others

Not exactly.. for what I've heard .. DM (Dungeon Master) CAN allow pause feature.. but it would be REALLY annoying to play in server where pause IS allowed.

Indeed, the DM may be allowed to operate a pause function, but the average player can't.

I hope there will be a way to distinguish between a DM pause and computer freezing up.

The game always plays out in realtime.
In multiplayer, there's no pausing.
In singleplayer, the game pauses whenever you hit the spacebar or go to a character screen, like BG2 or PS:T.
