Spoiler, (I GUESS) Non Exist in this game

Post by Greyhawk »

If Morrowwind is even SLIGHTLY like Daggerfall, you will need
EVERY hint, or spoiler(not cheat) you can discover. take my word.
This game will not be wrecked in even 3-4 months, unless somebody is really cheating.,...(Daggerfall took a year).
Bow,
thank you.
sorry for last post, take the Gold...

and some thoughts on the game so far..

I'm just begging that this game isn't like Daggerfall with it's thousands of seemingly random generated dungeons to frequently get lost and stuck in. I even tried to cheat by using a shortcut key that would warp me straight to the quest item, but I'd usually just end up not finding the way out again :P
A find key on the worldmap like daggerfall would be nice though,
but I guess it'd be over way too quickly if you could just warp around the map in a millisecond by typing a location.

A little disappointing that the guilds always give exactly the same quests to the same places when you restart the game with another character (to try out different options before you get too far to turn back). It's pretty much follow the set path, same old quests. I mean, it shouldn't have been TOO hard to randomize them a little bit, like NOT going to the same house and kill the same 3 rats every time on the first Fighter's Guild quest. I restarted the game 3 times with new char's after getting to Balmora, and it was just a chore to wade through the exact same quests over and over.
Maybe put an um, tiger in someone elses house to kill..more variation :) "Go to <insert name>'s house and kill the <insert beast>". Loved the little twist on the Mage Guild quests though.

Big plus that there are so many guilds and houses and factions to join though, probably won't get quite as linear as I'm currently experiencing. In Daggerfall the quests you'd get was completely random, as in it would change if you reloaded after you got a quest. Was one of the things that made DF so damn addictive, always new quests. Guess Morrowind isn't made to be that randomized..which is probably a good thing seeing I never got even halfway in Daggerfall (some princess quest to find a crazy grandma in a some castle in dragon-something mountains which i could never find to further the main plot)..

Oh well...just a little rant of my own this.

Daggerfall :)
@Bitex Did you ever have an item or buy the recall spell? I found it a huge time saver :) Cast the anchor at the entrance and then teleport out once you finished the quest.
Finding Nulf@ga wasn't too hard, and you end up getting some more quests from her.
Edited for silly censor

My Daggerfall CD is ruined due to scratches now :(
Never tried the anchor/teleport thing. Wasn't into internet at ALL in those days ('96 I believe) so no forums to ask for things.
Also wondering if it will be possible to get more mobile, like buy a horse and ride around swiftly. The cart was a brilliant idea, although I don't envy my poor mage dragging a cart around weighing in at 100's of pounds :)

But this isn't a daggerfall forum anyways, won't get into a nostalgia kick!! *slaps my face to snap out of it*

LOL To answer the daggerfall mobility, yes you could ride through any open area or city :) Much faster than running :D

The game doesn't have the randomly generated dungeons or the lookalike cities of Daggerfall--not by a longshot. Each dungeon is unique, from the smallest caves to the sneakiest, largest underground multilevel complexes, and each city is, too.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Once you get your speed attribute up high, and you know your way around, you can get places quite fast in Morrowind even without taking transport service.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....
